A few questions before starting?

We all love 1940 here, so glad you are playing it.

What about the resolution? Will it be ok?Does anybody have a hard copy of this?

mantlefan is correct.

A&A:Europe subs cannot take hits from airplanes unless the attacking units have destroyer with them.

So attacking AC & 2 subs is really good option, for taking 18ipc boat down and having 50/50 of not losing a plane.

I asked this on the A&A revised forum, but was reminded that that version doesn’t quite work the same way as A&AE works, so hopefully someone here can help me understand this better.

I was always under the impression that, as the defending player, your fighters take no part in a SBR unless the attacker sends his fighters as escorts for his bombers. If that is so, what is the attacker’s incentive to send his fighters along in the first place? It would seem to me that doing so would only serve to put his bombers at risk. We’ve played under this impression since Europe first came out….are we totally missing something?  :?

im pretty sure that fighters can defend against any planes during a SBR, bombers being escorted or not. as Mantlefan says, otherwise that would make no sense.

You have to hold it for one turn. However, an ally could land a fighter there on their following turn. Not that Germany has an ally, but it may apply to the Allies.

I believe the answer to both questions is “yes”. It’s kind of like a tank “blitzing” through 2 territories. Naturally if there is an enemy unit in said territory, you’re staying put, my friend.

destroyers only have an attack role of 2 during amphibious assaults.
