Interesting that someone decided that Russia is likely to out-navy Italy (+2 TR and +2 CA)- just in case Stalin decided to float the mighty Caspian Armada? Bummer for those of us for whom the italy units were always a big selling point :)

I actually have a beefier Italian army/navy pool of units… I use “national bins” for each country that are filled by combining my multiple copies of A&A into a single bin per nation, and use them for whichever A&A game I’m playing that day. I also purchased extras from HBG, so my Italian bin has more of everything than what comes in Anniversary, plus I have the proper Italian unit sculpts from Europe 1940, since Anniversary uses German and Japanese sculpts for Italy. Italy was a big selling point for me on Anniversary as well… I always missed having Italy as a separate nation when playing 1942.2 (and Classic for that matter).
As for the Soviet Union… about the only time I see Russia build a fleet is in an end-game where Germany was defeated and Russia is trying to build a fleet to invade Japan!
