Definitely, with median results it would have been 8-9 hits on the first round. That would have meant 2-3 less hits on your second round, so probably another hit on his defensive round. So total 5 planes saved relative to the median scenario.

It’s a bit late now but Germany is alot weaker than you think. You need to press your russian advantage. Sure you can’t attack until next turn; but I would push/lean into Germany everywhere possible as hard as possible; they’ve spent too much time building complexes and boats. The red beast must destroy them!
I’ll give a more detailed response tomorrow once I look at the turn more.

Well my spoiling attacked killed 1 German fighter– at least that was good… To make it harder with Italy Can opening for the Germans. ( I learned that phrase recently lol)

What a BLOODBATH in Egypt wow! Blow for Blow CQB man.
From looking at the map - and observing your play style, you’re really not doing too bad; If I had to guess I would put in the above average level of players at AA.org; which is saying alot as this is only your first game here.
As for the game itself;
Yes - you have been punished in some key territories, but both of them (Egy/Ind) are difficult to keep against a focused drive.
I like your American landings at Gibraltar - though it was at risk to counter attack; sometimes that’s the thing to do; put it out there to draw fire. Glad you did that.
Your pacific campaign isn’t really too bad; and you’ve done a good job adjusting your forces for the most part to capitalize on an expended Japan. Carolines was a good play, it’s a critical territory in the pac.
Something for you to consider - and something i was worried you might try; was to clear Sz6, and then non combat move your navy in there to convoy and damage Japan. I think I gave you 50/50 sending air against my fleet; it was a wild card; and my thought was it would cost you some planes if you tried… Carolines was probably the better choice though. Interested to see where this goes!

Wasn’t sure where to go in the Pacific. Playing it safe doesn’t seem to be the way to go all the time in Global 40.
I find the allies need to make riskier moves; especially early. Anything to stop/slow the axis juggernauts.
