From looking at the map - and observing your play style, you’re really not doing too bad; If I had to guess I would put in the above average level of players at AA.org; which is saying alot as this is only your first game here.
As for the game itself;
Yes - you have been punished in some key territories, but both of them (Egy/Ind) are difficult to keep against a focused drive.
I like your American landings at Gibraltar - though it was at risk to counter attack; sometimes that’s the thing to do; put it out there to draw fire. Glad you did that.
Your pacific campaign isn’t really too bad; and you’ve done a good job adjusting your forces for the most part to capitalize on an expended Japan. Carolines was a good play, it’s a critical territory in the pac.
Something for you to consider - and something i was worried you might try; was to clear Sz6, and then non combat move your navy in there to convoy and damage Japan. I think I gave you 50/50 sending air against my fleet; it was a wild card; and my thought was it would cost you some planes if you tried… Carolines was probably the better choice though. Interested to see where this goes!

Wasn’t sure where to go in the Pacific. Playing it safe doesn’t seem to be the way to go all the time in Global 40.
I find the allies need to make riskier moves; especially early. Anything to stop/slow the axis juggernauts.
For your first game - you are light years ahead of alot of guys. Don’t let it get to your ego though! Alot of practice and games to be had friend. :)
I agree I am noting that I should have attacked in China… delaying just let Japan expand way to fast to stem the tide… Same with in the mediterranan…
One of the hardest things to get is the factor of Airbases. That extra point of flight is huge. I was aware of the naval base use in the first Pacific game.

Think of the Allies like Rocky, you take a lot of punches, punch back where you can, and you wear down the opponent. That’s the only way the allies can be effective because their income is fractured. You must attack when you can and entice the Axis to attack you and suffer significant losses, and gain time in the process.
