Has anyone ever considered designing a 3d printable battle box replacement? I’m thinking that may be a good solution that would be much more durable than the cardboard version. I’ve never designed anything for printing so not sure how difficult it would be.
Cheaper alternative for battle dice.

Buy different blank color dice. Each color represents a specific kind of unit.
http://www.dicegamedepot.com/blank-dice-3/Buy stickers for the dice. Put a sticker on one of the sides of the dice. This represents a att/def value of one. Add one sticker per side for different att/def values.

The problem with that is that the sticker will come off and/or the image will get worn.

Dice rolling can become tedious for anything requiring a roll of one. I see this would allow you to roll all of your units at once on a single round of battle, easily count the dots(hits) and speed up the game. Will try it soon

I have done this too. It is a much easier system. I found blank dice for sale on eBay. 12 of each seems sufficient.

AKA: Hit Dice… there are already many options like this out there, including different colored dice for which are 1-hit, 2-hit, 3-hit, etc… both IWNGU and Young Grasshopper offer Hit Dice as an alternative to the national battle dice.
