I was thinking you wouldn’t be able to bring the Okinawa infantry to Caroline since it didn’t conduct combat… From page 14 of the Europe book:
“If you are sharing a sea zone with surface warships (not
submarines and/or transports) belonging to a power with
which you are at war, this situation requires you to do one
of the following:
• Remain in the sea zone and conduct combat,
• Leave the sea zone, load units if desired, and conduct
combat elsewhere,
• Leave the sea zone, load units, and return to the same
sea zone to conduct combat (you can’t load units while
in a hostile sea zone), or
• Leave the sea zone and conduct no combat.
Once these sea units have moved and/or participated in
combat, they can’t move or participate in the Noncombat
Move phase of the turn.” -
Does it just stay on the transport then?

or ould it move to the zone by okinawa in combat phase, then pick up the infantry and move to carolines in noncombat move?

Well, I’m not sure how’s it’s usually played on Triple-A but I interpreted it that you can’t pick up units unless you are doing an attack with them.
i.e. you can’t pick up units in the combat move unless it’s for combat and you can’t do anything in the non-combat because of the situation.
I think it could just go to Caroline empty or pick up at Okinawa to attack something.

I have a rule clarification question since I might have screwed myself…
The rules say you can leave from a hostile sea zone to end in a friendly one during combat move. (Like you did with your transports in SZ6) It also says you can do that if it’s a friendly sea zone that could become hostile through a scramble caused by an amphibious assault. However it doesn’t cover if it could become hostile through kamikaze strike caused by an amphibious assault.
So basically I want know if I can move out my boats, especially the carrier with the 2 UK fighters, to a friendly sea zone during combat move to avoid losing the whole thing to kamikaze strikes if I do an amphibious assault from SZ19. (Since UK planes would be cargo and would be a huge loss)
Has this come up for you before? Feels like the spirit of the rules are to be able to avoid combat in the sea zone you started in if you desire to… it seems to cover all cases except this one.
I tried to search the forums to see if others have asked but the search function seems broken right now.
