Hi Worsham. I know what I would have done, but Jeff Davis was West Point aristocracy, so would not have done any thing as radical.
I think after failing to take Knoxville, Longstreet was no longer flavour of the month, so he who helped win Chickamauga would have to be discounted. He was needed with his Eadtern Corps to save the day in the Wilderness. He was much missed and needed back there.
Cleburne would have been an excellent anti establishment choice. He had the necessary respect within his own corps, but he would have had to jump two ranks. I would have given the job to him. He would have allieviated the manpower problem by arming the slaves too. (Not sure Forrest would have stoic for that.)
Forrest too would have done a great job, but again he was far too junior in rank. He would have required a staff that he respected and who could explain logistics to him.(He would have understood, given his civilian background, I think.) He would probably have had to duel half the generals though! I think I would leave him as a Cavalry commander, but promote him to its head, above Wheeler.
Coolest Army Get-up

Ha. Sounds like a fun game. Only problem is is that it’s hard to judge who’s dead when you’re firing a MG42. More like everybody dies.
-
lol! All one thousand of you guys just died!
Where’s the source of weapons? Is it a catalog, ebay, or what?
-
I think you can buy weapon accessories like the MG42, but not the weapon itself last time I checked. I assuming it’s probably from mail order gun catalogs as that’s wear I get my guns from.
-
my father doesn’t want me buying weapons until i’m 18 (collectible ones, i wanted to buy some ww2 sub-machine guns, and a german machine gun (MG33?)) i’ll settle with army helmets for now
-
I like cheeze
-
that’s very nice…

There is a paper called “Shotgun News” that companies advertise guns in you can get all kinds of accesorys there, but you have to have someone with a dealers license order the guns for you.
I have a couple of collectable millatary guns. I have my K98 which is matching and stamped 1941, I have an M1 Garand, a Walther P-38 and an AK-47, not sure if that last one realy fits in there but its millitary anyway.
In one of the battles I went to I built a simulated bunker out of plywood. A buddy of mine and I got in it with an MG42 and an MP40 and two Squads one Brit and one American tried unsuccessfully to “dislodge” us. What a blast. I’m telling you that MG42 is like a buzzsaw, you can rip through a belt of 50 rnds in just a few seconds.
-
so where is a good place to check out prices? and how much more money is a fire ready weapon than a de-militarized one?
-
I don’t remember where you said you are from, but Walmart here carries Shotgun News. I’d check that out it looks like a newspaper but it is a periodicle that is puplished every 10 days.
I’ll do some looking around and see what I can come up with for you.
Are you looking for something in particular?
-
don’t go through so much trouble for me! i can’t legally own a firearm for another 364 days. I would like to own a MP44 and or MG42. That’s my dream…
-
Where do you live? In Arizona you are aloud to own a fire arm at any age you just can’t buy it your self. And just afew years ago they passed a law that says you have to have a permission slip from your parrents to carry it. Before that it wasn’t nessaccery. I got my first shotgun when I was 12. I belive I had 6 guns by the time I turned 18.

My friend ,here in Canada, has a Lee Enfield Canadian iusse from WW2. Its not registered though.
-
does the lee work
my grandfather had a ww1 ross rifle along with some 1812 muskets but he pawned them all before he died -
Yup, it works, His(my friends) grandfather-n-law hunted with it…lol sick.
-
My Kar-98 works great I can keep a 1" group at 100 yards. It is more accurate then my M1 Garand.
-
I would like to own a German MG43 (though I’d settle with a MG34) but you’ll have to pawn over a lot of dough in order to get one. For now I’m content with my WII Thompson submachine gun and Mauser which each cost me less than $200.
Also, does anybody knows what happens to weapons and vehicles after a war? Are the infantrymen required to turn over all their weapons and munitions even if they want to keep a pistol or rifle for personal reasons? Can you request to buy the plane you fought in if you were a high scoring ace?
-
I always personally liked the German Africa Core uniforms. No real reason, just fits my tastes.
-
The Afrika Korps uniforms are great too but I think that the tan blends in a little too much with British and American uniforms… But I do like their goggles and caps!
-
something about that hat and kool afrika insgina.
i live in NY by the way.
-
Wait… wasn’t the Afika Korps insgina a Palm Tree with a Swastika over it!?
