17L Global BM 3.0 Adam (Allies) vs JuanSpain (Axis)

I was very lucky there, you should have kept around 20 pieces and then with the russian help, a very tight battle vs Japan + Italy.

I have not calculated in detail, but I would say I only had a 30/40% to win this battle combining my 3 armies on average.

I just did it quickly, it’s about 25% for you to get India. I thought you were going to go for it next round, but I still sacrificed the US bomber just in case.

This is really not my month for dice. You played very well though and I learned a few things. Good game.

Let me know if you’re up for a rematch. I’m quite busy for the next week so we would start 6-7 days from now ideally.

    @Adam514:

Well considering I am spending over 1 hour on a turn, you can be sure I am thinking. You are now a part of the (small) list of players who have made me think the longest .

I learned a valuable lesson here, which is that even though lots of carriers aren’t too efficient in battle, they allow Japan to rapidly switch between land and naval operations, and it shouldn’t be underestimated. You used that expertly here.

I agree carriers are not the most efficient item, but for Japan they are not so bad if you allready have the planes to carry, and you know how to use them. I have practised quite a lot with them on Vanilla.

If Pearl resists your attack, I will win the game, however you are better on BM than me very clearly. No way I can win you on a global long term battle.

I have no chance of getting Pearl back now that Japan doesn’t have to worry about India.

Part of the game is the option to win by victory cities. You switched objectives and combined every Axis power to do it, it’s part of the Axis’ strengths.

Ok, thank you very much then.

I knew from the 2 games we played outside the league, that you were better by far, and I have only played 4 games afterwards, in fact I preferred practising more before playing you in the league, but this year has so little action that I decided taking your challenge to learn from you, allthough a defeat was quite certain.

I knew my only chance was on a Pacific win using a large german army there, coordinating my moves accuratelly, and then pray for some Marti help at the end of all if needed (as it was the case).

Yes I thought about trying to capture it in the next round and the % was a bit higher I believe, but I was uncertain about defense in all Japan sea and coastal VCs at the same time, giving you one more round I saw potential moves from your side that I didn´t like.

Re the rematch, I should offer it for sure, your turn for Axis I propose. My allies are weaker + I have no “one side of the map win” option, so you should win very easy, then we can play the game for the best of 3 with me repeating Axis.

  • '19 '17

Yeah it would have yielded around the same chances of an Axis win whichever round you went for it, with everything else going on.

Sounds good! I’ll send you a PM when I start the game 6-7 days from now.

Wow, gratz Juan. Although it required luck in the end (and you can certainly NOT expect to invent a strategy that out of sudden does not require luck to bead Adam) you had a plan from the beginning and succeeded in the end.

And I agree with Adam. As far as I can judge BM so far, Axis need the VC threat. If global domination would be the only way to win, Axis would probably be worse.

  • '15 '14

Oh, I just ran the German attack. So you managed to win a 0% (<0,5%) battle there, that was nice:D

  • '19 '18 '17 '16 '15

Thx Tobias, I feel very proud of it, ADAM is superb and my plan was designed ad-hoc since round 1. It is the first time I play like that, which was a real challenge having someone like ADAM in front, normally testing something is a disaster, but it worked.

The dice in Calc for Germany were huge with 50 vs 50 pieces but a lot less attack power vs defense, but I had 2 more armies coming (28 Japanese and 12 italians coordinated for the same round) that were not necessary, in the end I needed help from Marti, but not to win a 0% battle but a 30% aprox one.

I am far from finding something vs ADAM in which you can ellaborate for a win without a comparable forces battle in the end for decision of the winner before he starts dominating you completelly.

Well, I guess this was 50% (may be more) of my pass to next year league play-off title. Would be good being there after 1 year of absence due to my switch to BM. At least the padawan was there.

  • '15 '14

Yep, I am aware that at top 0,5% wasn’t necessary at India. Still, this result was astonishing.
As Adam mentioned, recently he has not been lucky in decisive Axis attacks at low odds.

Next to this game and ME1945 he was in the attackers seat in our XDAP game and he had poor dice when doing a decisive triple attack himself.
And as a fun fact ME1945 and I were victims of a successful decisive triple attack in the upcoming game:D
