Yeah, it does look like Egypt will fall in a few more rounds at which point there is no stopping the Axis in Europe.

@Arthur:
Call it a game or keep playing?Â
yeah, I told you it was done, maybe I missed something? Anyway, good game and fun to play you! Hmmmm
1. Maybe my bid wasn’t the best? But it is REALLY hard to make a good 100 IPC bid! Maybe some more men for China?
2. I buy at least 1 carrier too much in the pacific, early on I also forget to move some american boats there, but this is hardly game breaking. I buy a decent number of subs, destroyers, transports and men, but somehow they accomplish next to nothing in the pacific. I am not sure why the japanese fleet is stronger than mine even with this HEAVY Pacific buy for several rounds. This is causing me big trouble in europe as I start this campaign too late because I accomplish nothing in the pacific.
3. The idea was to funnel men up through middle east and caucasus to fight Germans, but this fails too.Ideas?

- Your bid wasn’t the problem. Everything that you bought helped you out in the war effort.
a) Africa was yours without contest
b) I needed extra Japanese troops in Manchuria
c) Moscow was too tough to conquer
d) You kept most of the UK fleet alive
2) You had at least two carriers two much in the Pacific. Compare the battle calculator results when you swap 6 subs for a loaded carrier. The defense is just as good and the offense is much better. If you had 20 subs off of Queensland with a couple of carriers supporting it, I would be ship blocking you instead of the other way around.
3) Caucasus are too hard to hold, but you have to keep Northwest Persia. Shuttle planes from Moscow down there if the Germans are heading south.
In general you played well but didn’t have any offensive goals. You have to accomplish at least one of the following big Allied goals:
-
Keep and hold the Burma road and have enough force to push east towards Hong Kong
-
sub raid all of the Japanese areas and be able to counterattack any spots that get hit by destroyers
-
conquer Korea, stack with Russian forces, build a major naval force in the Sea of Japan
Having more subs instead of carriers would have been a huge help for any of these three tasks. -
Conquer Normandy and hold it with UK fighters
-
Conquer Norway and hold it with UK fighters, build factory
-
Do a neutral crush: attack Spain, Saudi Arabia, etc. This allows the US to funnel troops into Western Europe very efficiently.
-
Convoy raid the Adriatic sea for the full 12 PUs per round.
I haven’t figure out where all of the Allied money went, but you should have been able to have succeeded on at least one of these goals when you began with such a strong start. Keeping up with Russia and China was tough for Germany and Japan; there should have been enough production for the US and UK to have succeeded.

Impressive win! Will the seemingly unstoppable ABH break past the 100 mark?

Thanks for the input, yeah I have a tendency to buy too many carriers. I will consider that in the next game and obviously loosing NW persia was basically the end of the game! Let me know if you want to try again at some point!

Best of luck with your other games. I am travelling for a few weeks and then moving from Denver to Milwaukee so I will have an extended break from G40.
