This was the most worked win I remember in very long time, you were really tough opponent this time for me as expected. And one of the true gentlemen that play in this site, always a pleasure playing with you.
Your Japan was superb, superefficient in production and with very good moves during all the game (except perhaps 1 round ago when you could try a Pacific win with German help but in the end you did not go for it, I was expecting 50 germans being sacrified vs 60 troops in Calc, and then Japan combining Anzac fall with a second round over Calc and massive infantry purchase in Tokyo, I had plans to quickly counter, but I was uncertain I could avoid that quick K.O., I think that was your last chance, it did exist, and it was on round 16!).
Re germany, your start was superb too.
Dice made it even harder, I was visualizing the 1-1… and just decided doing the best possible and pray for a miracle…
The first opportunity for me came when you moved towards middle east with germany but then retreated back, I believe that move should have been finalized towards Egypt and would have caused me more issues, this reduced slightly your big advantage. The second opportunity was the Baltic fleet purchase instead of using the factories in the russian front, this balanced the game, but still with slight advantage for you. The third was the Berlin fall, that one turned the game into advantage for me but you still had the Pacific win option, and we were on round 16!, which proves how tough you were and how balanced the match was.
I completelly disagree with you, looking at your Axis vs my Allies, I am not a better player, perhaps I was a little more concentrated this time. Congrats for this game too, you deserved a win too, and it was really closed to happen.

thanks for this…yes the G navy buy was a mistake, going to the M.E w/germany was a ruse, I have done this and succeed before but to a weaker opponent. I worried about Russia getting too strong and you didn’t make a mistake that I saw. I think before Berlin fell I decided to go for the Pacific win but was blocked on a quick G advance on IND which discouraged me. I didn’t see a JPN opening on Aussie, another fault I made perhaps. As in my chess game I open strong but with multiple option in the middle I seem to falter and perhaps get too discouraged with a difficult end game, which, I must expect against the stronger players. I also realize that I need to play fewer games and take more time, analyze more when playing the strongest opponents. I kind of enjoy rolling over weaker opponents. I don’t need to think out my purchases, my attacks etc and can still win…playing you and the other strong players takes more effort. Let’s play again this year after I play Gamerman…this game should take all my concentration!
