how do you get dice stats?
Clearly Shadowhawk knows what he is doing and he might be just better than me. If that is the case, fair enough!
As for japan, I think this is going OK. When the allies decide to throw everything they have at Japan, Japan will be busy, no question. Maybe it is incorrect to move the Manchuria men, but I fail to see how that matters a whole lot. In any case Russia can just walk into Korea and the situation is pretty much the same. The poor part is that Manchuria is chinese. With everything that is going on in the DEI/Yunnan/India, China can “easily” break through to the coast and threaten Shangtun and Kiansu, especially if Japan loose focus on Yunnan and China ends up with artillary. I think moving the Manchuria men avoids this problem. Â Manchuria and Korea “I can take back any time” if i decide to, but I think there is more important business to deal with elsewhere. So right now, there is nothing new under the sun and this opening has been done many times in the past by allied players. What I have achieved is stopping the flow of infantiry from India, I have control of Malaya and India will be weak if I one day will be in position to attack it. By end of J6 we will know more how this is playing out.
As for Germany, G4 is not ideal, but maybe it doesn’t really matter a whole lot, it is not like the 18 men wil make it home any time soon  :-D :-D :-D. However, ShadowHAwk plays well and is able to make me think twice about a Italy2 DOW. Nice position of men, making it too risky, as it would be really hard to avoid a lethal strike on eastern poland and at the same time avoid Russia to take Finland. This is probably somewhat sloppy by me that I don’t have my air force in position and it is also probably not really required to use fast moving units to attack the French in round 2. In any case these are “smal” inaccuracies that it seems like ShadowHAwk is picking up on. I will have to study this later on
So far a lot of credits to ShadowHAwk!
Oysteilo, the US has spent 36 PUs in the Pacific during the first three rounds (1 carrier, 2 subs, 1 DD if I read the history correctly) . That is hardly throwing everything that they have into the theater. I would be very cautious as Japan if the US had spent 3 full rounds of production in the Pacific, but not a mere 36. I think that Japan can make up for lost ground but they should be doing so much better at this point of the game if the US is primarily building forces in the Atlantic.
I rarely see Russia decide to invade Korea just for the one turn boost of 3 PUs. They have to to retreat to Amur the following round and pray that they can escape back towards Moscow before the stack is wiped out. They are extremely exposed in Amur on the round following the Korea strike. In this game the Allies got a 24 point swing already from the Russian invasion of Manchuria&Korea, plus the Russian stack can safely retreat to Amur next round since the odds have turned against him.
You generally play the Allies quite well and must need a few more games of practice to get your Axis skills back up to a normal level. I don’t want to come off as insulting since I also get rusty after extended time not playing one side of the board, and the better League players generally crush me with ease.

Interesting match. Could you guys please include territory summary every once in a while for us readers?
BH
Yeah, that would be great.
BTW for all the readers, according to everybody on this forum i should lose this match from the start and i have absolutely 0 chance of winning this game.
As im playing allies without a bid and with the standard 2nd edition rules.
OK ShadowHAwk. I guess that is it for me. Your last move with Russia puts me in a hopeless situation. If I take Bryansk with Germany you will strafe me and position in Russia, If I dont’ you will take Novgorod. Either way it is catch 22!
All right, I am completely outplayed by you and there is no point in continuing this «humiliation»! For me this was a solid wake up call and I am really puzzled how little I got accomplished, especially with Germany as they were left to do their own things all the time.
I bow to your excellent gameplay and you proved me wrong, or at least you prove you are a much better player than I am. I will have to look at this and pick up some good hints!
Giving up already, Oysteilo??! The game can still be salvaged despite the very bad start. Want to try to keep playing for another round or two, ShadowHawk?
I still haven’t figured out why Oysteilo thinks this game is over for the Axis. I am baffled.
Agree, I think it is far from over.
The more I look at the board, the more I am convinced that the Axis should have an easy victory.

If you think I still have a chance I might keep it going for a few more rounds…… But I think this looks like a lost case

After sleeping on it I can post Japan this afternoon. But in any case I need to figurte out something clever with germany……There are definately things to be learned here!

I insist that harris keeps his mouth shut about the euro board. Not fair having 3 players VS 1 and i dont even have a bid :)
No offence Harris but you keep giving him good advice and that is against my best intrest :)
I agree, no 3 vs 1 player. As far as I know I think ABH has not hinted on anything on what I should do, he was not agreeing with the manchuria thing but that is all. He has said he thinks it is not over. Which I think is fair. It also looks like other players agree with him and that encourages me to try a little longer
Great stuff. The Japanese has had some sushi and sake over the last couple of days so expect the unexpected
I have been careful to avoid giving any advice to either side, just occasionally giving a few tips over old moves that are already played out for a couple of rounds. Normally I wouldn’t be doing that except for all of the attention that both of you brought to the Forum with oysteilo trying to prove that the Axis can easily win a standard game and ShadowHAwk trying to maintain that the game is actually balanced (sorry, even if you beat a bad Axis player that still doesn’t mean that the game is balanced for good players).
It irks me to see people who think that the game is balanced because they usually demand to play the Axis in our F2F gaming group and yet refuse to give the Allies a bid. I think that I would have a good shot of winning against ShadowHAwk with a +40 Allies bid, and many of the top League players would have a good shot of winning even with a +60 bid although at that point they might have to play very cautiously until a big mistake was made.
