Congratulations to both players for qualifying and to Adam for the win, is this the third championship for Adam514? I am wondering about a couple of moves in the early stages if I may comment. From the Allies, i am wondering if an air strafe of fic and/or sending the dd to kill the Borneo transport would have been better. The air strafe world have allowed artillery to be bought early iirc, assuming it succeeded. I can live with the decision taken but it doesn’t stop me from wondering.
From the axis, many people shy away from the j1 dow in bm but assuming it is done in this way, i shy away from the attack on the sz37 bb, rightly or wrongly. One thing I can’t see is why the sz33 cv wasn’t used to defend the Borneo transport. This really out back Japan’s progress. I think am Overland route should take down India after a j1 on j5 unless a counter attack succeeds somewhere along the way. I had to work out the merit in using sz33 cv by trial and error but when i checked it was right there in the Japan playbook.
I also didn’t like the conquest of Normandy. What did the European axis gain from this attack? Maybe it was 4ipc but usa were then able to churn out units from this ic for most of the game.
At this point, i am going to plug my French rebalance which removes the ridiculous incentive to leave Normandy and s France French and takes care of a few other minor limitations, but uses about half of the changes from bm.
Sorry for the criticisms, I am sure I would have stuffed up other things against against Adam. Again, great work to get to the final for both players.
