@Imperious-Leader sorry, no pics this time but the table did feel like this was a way better way to begin the game. Gets the game going a little quicker and with zero 9-12 anxiety for either side. Seems like it would be more fair for tournament play also.
Balanced setup modification aav5 1942 2nd edition

Keep rules.
Make the following adjustments to the setup:
Caucasus 4 inf 1 arty 1 armor.
India 3 inf 1 arty.
sz14 1 battleship.
sz 11 2 transport 1 dd 1 cruiser.
Central USA 2 infantryEverything else is the same.
To clarify the changes
+1 inf Caucasus
+1 arty india
sz14 -1 cruiser +1bship (tradition to have a bship)
sz 11 +1 cruiser
Central USA +1 inf
~Map is balanced. Still slightly favors axis.
If you want to tune things down don’t add a central usa inf and don’t upgrade cruiser to bship,

These aren’t house rules. It is what Larry Harris should have done if he actually tested his game.

How did you decide which zone wasnot OK and which ones was balanced?

I like your starting setup because it is flavorful, thoughtful, and sane, but there’s no way it favors the axis. If you are ever near San Francisco, I would bet $500 that I can beat you with this Allied setup (as in, I play the Allies every time) in at least 2 out of 3 low luck games.
