Attack London with G1?

In addition to forces above I’ll send the strategic bomber from England and fighters if their still around from the scramble for your fleet.  If you send the fighters from England you have to commit your carrier. Lose those fighters 1st if you feel you might retreat.  This gives you two additional fighters and a bomber.

When doing a J1 attack I also sink the Hawaiian fleet. I hit the fleet with a couple dd, sub and 4 planes (2 ftrs/2tacs). I then NCM 2 carriers, cruiser and bb to Wake to pick up my surviving air units. Make sure a dd survives the Haw battle to block out the US ships from hitting your fleet at Wake (leave a few ftrs on Japan in case you need to NCM some air in to replace losses). US can try an ill advised air sweep on your Wake fleet, but if you want to play it safe take Wake Isl too. This will give your air units a place to land so your carriers and BB can soak up the first three hits.

I really like this (especially with balance mode because Wake denies USA an NO), and I would also add a bomber that lands on Marshall Islands.  The problem is all those planes are not in Kwangsi so you lose the threat of pounding an airstrike on Szechwan or Burma, and you might even have a hard time at Yunnan.  You do set the USA way back but you lose initiative on the mainland.

Still, I love the idea of doing something slightly useful rather than escorting with a fighter which goes home once the air battle is over.

I like bizarre moves.  For non-regulation games (non-tournament, non-league) because it puts the other player off and might show you something neat that you can use for regulation play.

I’ve seen MANY players land Germany in Brazil and put a complex there.  Good way to annoy the crud out of America (Italy would be better, but sometimes they’re not in a position too.)

Seen invasions of Canada as well (in Alpha 3.9 no less!) with mixed effects.  What happened there, once, was that the landing happened, America went full ground forces and japan sunk the American navy - it was a suicide move, but it worked.  Germany lost like 200IPC worth of ground units, but AMerica lost at least that much in naval units, probably more.

So bizarre moves have their purpose.  Canadian shield was bizarre, then mainstream, then bizarre again.  (And yes, I’ve been known to pull it out once or twice in a “classic” game since nO ONE sees it coming anymore!)

The US navy could not sneak out of the Pacific?

Buys 1ac, 1dd, 1sub
Combat moves:
Sz111 with 3tacs,3figs and 1sub
Sz 106 with 2subs
Sz 91 with 2subs
France with 7inf, 3art, 2figs, 2tacs and 2strats
Take fin and bul and shot one round at yug and retreat to rom
Move all tanks and mechs and the rest to the border. The 3 tanks from bel can only get to berlin but they are in range for the T2 attack.
The Italians could strat bomb ukr in T1 to support the action.
Any oppinions on that?
I know its risky but 9 tanks and many inf and art are a strong argument for me.

Your purchases are good, but only if you want a large war of attrition in the Atlantic (because you are leaving 110 and 109 alone). I like your sea battle options, but I would also add taking out the french ships in the Med with 1 tac and 2 fighters from west Germany (landing in southern Italy).

Normally I think UK could take back both Shan State and Yunnan on UK 3 before pulling back to Calcutta.
Thus your planes have no landing spot.

Might be costly, but also might be worth it for the reasons you suggested.

Oh that is SOOO sweet! Wish I had known that previously.  I had not attacked a French Destroyer for fear of losing the non-Aggression NO for letting FIC be free (figured it was all or nothing.)  Ah well, my fault for not checking first!

you have to balance the Japan opening w/the European side of the board.    J1 attack was great in Pac40 as we all know, but do you really want to put the US to 80 IPCs on US1?  Ask the Nazi next to you if HE wants you to do that.
