It's April 25th, ANZAC Day

Well, for each money value, you only need the number of players times the maximum number of those bills/chips to get more than or equal to the next value. For example, you only need 9*4=36 1’s, since no player will have more than 4 1’s, since 5’s exist. The only issue is the highest denomination, but you can probably assume that no player will have more than about 150 IPC’s ever.

I hate to break this to you but the term ANZAC actually doesn’t apply to WWII era Australia and New Zealand. It goes for the term in WWI, however to somewhat contradict this statement; there was an ANZAC corp giving by the UK to a combine unit in Greece. So it did exist in small numbers but as far as the strategic use of it, Australia and New Zealand never combined their arms into one military in WWII. With that said, I don’t think you can find an ANZAC roundel for WWII as I am guessing each nation would use whatever their roundel would be.

Hitting Turkey turns all true neutrals pro-Allies.  Not sure if it is worth it when the allies are already making SO MUCH MORE per round than the Axis.  Not saying it is not worth it, just wondering if it wouldn’t be better to go around via transport instead, since it also secures the med and n. Africa.

In one game I played a few months back, I think it was Alpha+2, both Germany and Italy failed to take France round 1.  Then UK sent some stuff in to back up the units France was able to purchase and believe it or not, Germany failed a second time.  This time Italy managed to finish off France though.  Very weird.  Axis lost that game by the way.

I’ve seen this happen. Makes for an exciting couple French turns.

The other issue is that Japan in the global game has nothing to do until turn 3 either, so this could seriously backfire.

The Japanese player simply has to say “if you declare war on me it’s gonna cost you Siberia” and the Japanese make a serious push into Russia with all his planes and Russia is screwed.  Buys the Pacific allies some time but may cost you Russia.

Well, the German invasion Barbarossa was halted again before Moscow, with a powerful red army counterattack destroying the main German stack. Italy never really got going and its attempt to defeat Egypt failed spectacularly, and for Japan the dice just got worse and worse. Japan suffered disproportionate land unit casualties in China and south east Asia, and when the Americans got going the Japanese fleet couldn’t hold. Allies win the war.

I think key to this game is that Japan has to break through against UK and China before the USA gets going. They need to be up to 60-65 IPC minimum. Also, a G2 against Russia didn’t work in my game, the offensive peters out, and you need a massive stack of infantry to shield a stack of tanks. A factory in Romania and the capture of Leningrad are advised to make it a two pronged attack. Plus a few Italian tanks and mech inf can really make a difference there, I feel. Italy needs to defeat Egypt quickly, and I feel that even without its western Italian fleet it could be done, in my game it was attempted but failed because of atrocious dice.

The axis were not friends of the dice in my game, pretty much every key battle the dice were lopsided against the axis.

And the axis need to expand quickly, the game starts with 66 IPC for axis (base territories, without bonuses) and 175 for the allies. Build up too slow and the allies will pile up the plastic.
