Napoleon game 8, fixed sides again

I don’t wish to be rude, but if you all felt like starting another game, I think we should consider it. I feel the French alliance can’t put sufficient pressure on the Coalition to beat us.
It is hard being the baddies in this game. The UK is a little too strong to start. (For balance, I would remove 5 or 6 units from them in  the Med.)

I agree that it seems a bit unfair for the Carolingians, but I’m not sure that removing UK troops in the Med would be the most fun, I’m a little scared it’d stop most of the action there, eliminating an interesting battlefield. How about strengthening the Swedish fleet in the Atlantic a bit? Or the French/Spain fleets there?

Not Sweden, I would say. UK’s TUV is far superior to the other nations. If we want the 8 of us, to have more balance, it has to be units shaved off it. I would remove 3 Fortifications, a Chasseur and two Marines. Look at those three islands and Gib. They are far too strong, defensively.

I do believe this game is basically over, but I’m not sure that changing the set up is going to affect bad dice or poor play.

You guys know this game better than I but just to remind you that the Carolingians won the previous game. Perhaps that was unusual?

Not unusual…they’ve won other team games before.

Which suggestion Captain that we should leave the set up as is?

In the two games I have played it seemed to me that the team that co-ordinated best won.
