Im a Dumb newbie with a question

Call it what it is!
I dont take offense to the word newbe or beginer, we all were at one time.
I like to use the words “new player”, and we always team them up with the best players at our board, we show them as much as we can and explain why we do certain things and the game isnt the end of the world if you crap out on rolls or make a bad move.
We also tell them why we attack where we do and each player has a different plan of attack,and let them choose what they want to do. Some times we reset pretty early too
Its good when a newly started player gets good dice and they can hammer an old pro

Like Churchill - I feel a sense of validation when hated, and as it doesn’t bother me in the least, it’s more of a blessing than a curse - and adds to the enjoyment.

Of course, it helps that MANY more people like me than hate me.  (Infact all but one).

Not to say that I go looking for fights, but when I see abuse/harassment, I’m going to stand in it’s way. And yea, my sense of humor can rub people the wrong way… lol.  Oh well.

Why he would like a place where this happens is for the simple reason that sometimes its fun to go to the zoo just to watch the chimps freak out and fling poo and everything.

This is a problem concerning looking back on history.  What you know of Hitler (primarily killing millions of people and starting a war) can be attributed to him from when he was conceived until his death.  You look upon him with that lens always on.  That’s probably why you were turned off when this individual said that Hitler’s book (not killing millions of people) was a different POV, by association.

That is an excellent point. Our looks back tend to be colored by our present preferences. They can interfere with objectivity.

Hitler is one of the most important figures of the last century. Reading the autobiographys and biographys of important people has always been considered part of being literate.

satan is an important person but i prefer to read the Bible and not his book. your freind didn’t want to offend you and tried to sound nice even though he thought you were a whacko nazi.

It’s a good story, nonetheless, and possibly has some actual roots in some dark corner of history. :wink:

What about later in the game, when I need tanks to move into Africa and Russia? It takes at least 3 turns before I can move from Manchuria to Moscow, instead of 2 if my tanks came from factories in India. Using the factory in India I might also be able to take Iraq or Caucasus - well out of the distance of transports from Japan.

The link says never to build factories early in the game, but if I know that USA has invested lots of ship in the Pacific, I will try not to meeet the buildup.
