The “Yunnan bid” has nothing to do with discouraging J1 DOW but aims on discouraging a J1 Yunnan attack (or inviting a disaster) independent from a Japanese declaration of war.

correct, i understand that part of the bid is aimed at discouraging yunnan, but yunnan is also part of a j1, and if axis feels that yunnan is important enough, japan will want to send in everything it can, which is usually not possible in a standard j1. it is but one consideration for the axis to not j1. however, i wasn’t just referring to that part of the bid, but also to the rest of the bid, which again is clearly aimed at discouraging a j1. and others have been adding mechs in burma or malaya, which are clearly aimed at weakening a j1 attempt.
adam not doing a j1 is precisely what i’m talking about lol….it’s extremely rare from all the games i’ve seen him play, for him not to j1. so clearly the bid worked at discouraging it!
