@Mn-guy Yes, other units can participate in the sea battle. Other than being a prelude to an amphibious assault, it is just like any other sea battle. The rules on page 15 mention only battleships and transports because they are the only units that can participate in the land battle.

As a side note, attacking air units must, of course, be assigned to either the sea or the land battle, as indicated by where they end their combat movement. They cannot participate in both, even if the amphibious assault is against an island.

The practical application in an actual game is the following:

It can cause the defender to misallocate his hits not knowing if the attacker is going to roll hot, cold or par.

Question:  Is it possible to build more than one industrial complex in the same territory.

The thought is, with Germany strategic bombing London (or vice versa), build another IC instead of repairing.  Then keep both repaired.  The Germans would have to split bombers and possibly face more AAA from each IC.

You can only have one IC per territory.

even with only 2 fighters, it is still pretty much a lock (barring crazy rolls)

and i made another misprint as well

instead of "combat:
battle 1, sea battle

2 battleships, 2 fighters, 1 sub, and 1 aircraft carrier    vs  1 fighter , 1 aircraft carrier, and a sub."

it should be 2 battleships, 1 bomber, i fighter*, 1 sub……
