I am forced to do desperate attacks already, lol. Egypt going awry was a real killer. I wish I had one of those lucky dd hit two times and kills the bship forcing the transport retreat… bs scenarios lol… or just mutual destruction would be nice. Karelia too :. Snowball from west russia losing 2 inf too many.
Oh well, at least things are starting to work out here n there with semi desperate attacks. Got to use air to hit inf and hope you miss to crawl back into this, otherwise I pretty much lose. lol.

I like some of the sea zone changes in this map, particularly the uk to russia shuffle… then other sea zone changes just suck like usa -> uk. Naval is weird for a 1942 game, the allies are super weak in ships. They should have just made it a 1941 map with germany going first like in aa50. The allies as a whole is pretty boring. In revised I would be shipping men already, more action from the allies.
Maybe uk is supposed to just buy infantry on india and bombers from uk while usa goes pacific… problem is east indies is now 5 seazones away instead of 4… which really stinks for a pacific campaign… maybe make kwangtung + kiangsu 1 and solomon islands + caroline islands 1… then things feel a bit more progressive and tempting to do a pacific.
Larry Harris needs help making a 1942. Then again if egypt defended I would be ok, probably pass on karelia, still losing but at least not super hard. It is just frustrating because 2 inf extra lost in west russia is not that uncommon, same with egypt falling. Larry Harris just needs some public testing before releasing something.

If you have to take the allies that is what I recommend.

yeah Egypt was kind of lucky going my way, I think most times it doesn’t work on turn 1. but youre doing several other things different as well so I’m not sure its that one thing.

That is game. Losing 2 inf in west russia on top of egypt is enough to tilt the game too much for an already too strong axis. Cannot do europe anymore in this map as allies, they always lose. Got to just bomber uk, inf india, get usa in the pacific, turtle russia as long as possible. Allies start with hardly any ships and the seazones really suck for the atlantic, everything points to a pacific the way larry harris keeps wanting people to play. I only like to do kjf 1/5 games. Such a disappointing map, I realized this when I was axis that the allies just get crushed super easy.
I took a risk with only 1 inf egypt and the FIC thing, but that is because Japan gets india super fast otherwise.

If it weren’t for copyright laws I would totally print my own 1942 map, so much improvement can be done to keep the map fun. When I play the axis it is pretty sad too, it is like, okay my turn, nothing threatens me so I just crush you, your turn. I can see why this is the least played map, classic sees more play and that map has an infantry slug fest.

I’m not sure I agree with your first statement. Allies played right can be killer. That said, Ive never seen Allies win with KGF. Unfortunately youre doing both KGF and KJP first, and that will not work. gotta stick with one.

That is a game winning or losing battle right there. I could cruiser the japan trans dd, ship the carrier 2x fig to the bship or add bomber and use fig for FIC. Plus the income, every tiny bit so important for uk.

I did do KGF, The only KJF I did was a FIC attack. In revised FIC is standard if you dont have an egypt attack to do. The allies dont get to drop units as quickly into europe as revised or aa50.

When the allies get nerfed about 100 ipc and seazone changes… you need luck for the allies and that is what I was hoping for.
