I made 2 4 x 4 box frames and will join at the middle. Put a 1 x 6 under storage area for containers, tops, and 4 dice boxes on ends and 2 poker chip storage pockets in middle and certain length risers to support containers and tops. Built it this way to support sides for elbow leaners. :roll:. Will post pics of winged end dice boxes with more storage.

Havin hard time post in pics. Trying to get bigger size. 200 x 400 pix max correct ?

John, we have 5 to 7 guys that play on HBG’s G39 game and it’s about once every 5 weeks. Very enjoyable.

CWO, ya I know about the files. Have to change them to png. to post. I will try a larger size next time or later.

Actually, png isn’t a good choice for posting: it’s high-quality but it take up a lot of bytes. For 1536 KB, you can post a much bigger jpeg picture than you could for a png picture, while still getting decent picture quality.

Try .jpg as opposed to .jpeg and see if that helps. I normally post in .jpg – I’ll try posting one below as an experiment.

After reading the threads, I figured maybe this way would be best to find an artist who can help. I’m looking for someone to help our monastery finish it’s customization of AA Global 40 and possible help, with what is necessary, on the pieces for Global War 1936…… the more intricate, the more monks like games like this. Also, 4 out of your 10 marines are actually F4F Wildcat fighters. The Zeros and Wildcats have to do with a rule about carrier fighters with a reduced price tag and a reduced move (from 4 to 3, I seem to remember).

Thanks! Ill be sure to post them, as well as offer them if anyone would be interested. I moved here (CA) from WA awhile back, I knew where to get all that casting stuff, ive looked here, cant seem to find anywhere locally… ordering online is murder, shipping jugs of liquid… in addition, not sure what im getting. I may end up using fiberglass resin, something this small, should be fine… just takes long to cure and I gotta make a grip, unlike the casting resins, takes like 30 seconds.

Everyone has their own unique way of painting the pieces.Â No matter how we paint the pieces they must still be playable within the game.

And the nice difference between game sculpts and real military equipment is that sculpts are rarely lost or damaged in combat. If that wasn’t the case, people might actually hesitate to risk sending their painted sculpts into battle on the game map, given the large amount of time they’ve spent on customizing them. :-)

yes, i know.ï¿½Â I used to paint small pewter figures for a different game (it’s a D&D nerd here) and because I enjoyed painting them so it might definitely be up next.

I’ve played D&D as well. We are all nerds here, LOL! :-D

You could have painted at the borders, IPC values, territory names etc. on the glass. That way you could easily use the 3D map for different games by changing the glass overlay :)

I think that having different sheets of painted glass for different games would be an expensive proposition. I don’t know how much Rorschach’s setup cost him, but the acrylic sheet which covers my own AA50 table set me back over a hundred bucks.

Yeah, I originally was going to etch all the borders onto the acrylic, but when you’re looking at $50 (give or take) per sheet for this size it would be far too expensive. But, to be honest, the sheet is so close to the table anyway there is absolutely no mistaking the territories, so it’s all good.

And this way, if we want to play a different game, we just pop in a flat MDF panel underneath instead of the AA50 board and you’re good to go!

The entire table (not counting countless hours of time) cost me about $150 … still no legs on it though.

And, Jeremy and I finally finished our game. 17 rounds, 9 weeks (about an hour and a quarter, hour and a half a week) … Allied Victory when the Brits waltzed into a sparsely defended Berlin.
