Germany Taking India - Go for Pacific Win?

I’ve tried this out a few times, it is like a “sneaky sea-lion”. I don’t usually have issues with US coming to liberate Britain in this scenario either because it is so fast. You can make it a real blind-side if you move the french troops back and move troops to the Russian front as if you’re preparing for a big Eastern push.

It’s all one turn. There is no separate Europe UK and Pacific turn its all one turn. So all UK units move once. The only thing that is separate is purchasing and placing units. UK is one country just like germany is one country and Russia is one country and japan is one country. The only thing different about UK from everyone else is you keep your purchases separate and your unit placement separate on the europe and pacific side of the boards.

So you purchase for the Europe UK and Pacific UK on the same turn. Keeping the money from each board separate. Then at combat movement phase it becomes one entity just like all the other countries. At the CM and NCM there is no Europe UK and Pacific UK there is just the UK. Does that help?
Then when you place units and collect money you once again keep the economies separate as well as unit placement. What UK pacific buys can’t be placed on the European side of the board and vice versa.

So once again UK is one entity you don’t move twice and they are not two separate powers as far as movement of units on the board is concerned.

I’ve attempted the G1 DOW, but with less force. I knew I would get counter-attacked and lose BS/EP back, but then I’d be able counter-attack again and retake them for (hopefully) good. My thought was it would be more beneficial to kill the Russians sooner than let them retreat and gain strength in numbers. However, with a Sea Lion purchase I ended up short on ground troops early and had to lose some tanks to take Leningrad - didn’t like that.

I like seeing these ultra aggressive strategies - but from my experience I would definitely have preferred the extra ground troops on the Eastern front early on. As others have mentioned, the NO money trade-off sucks as well. Giving the USSR a free 5 IPCs every turn until I was able to get Archangel (no subs left after G1 attacks) while losing yours by waiting til G2/3 on normal Sea Lion feint.

Something I forgot to ask about. I noticed in your video that you have already printed on the map your air and naval bases. Also, your convoy routes are much bolder and easier to see. Otherwise it looks like a standard Global 40 map. How did you get it with the air and naval bases printed on the map and the bolder convoy routes. I really like the convoy routes.

Right, the UK should take full advantage of the Commonwealth and have Ottawa operate as the backup European capital. At that point the UK player could help the US mount a liberation campaign from Canada or put all its resources in South Africa to help out Egypt.

I like the general idea, but it could upset the balance of the game. Sea Lion would become less of a threat and may not be good option at all because it requires a substantial investment on the part of Germany. And with Sea Lion out of the way, the UK may not need to focus on home defense so much, and may be able to send more planes south towards the Mediterranean.

On a side note, I prefer to give Persia to Russia. The 2 inf are very convenient for taking Iraq next.

Here is a simple steamroller plan for Japan to go all-in against USSR before USA enters the war:

J1 invade Amur with EVERYTHING available (activates Mongolians in alpha 3 but that’s ok), build major IC in Korea.

Spend everything on tanks (J2) and mech infantry (J3 and J4) built in Korea.  Spend on Pacific needs J5 onward (perhaps hunker down in Japan & Korea and wait for European win)

Move the whole horde 1 space westward each turn, with tanks and mech infantry moving 2 spaces per turn to catch up.  Bring bombers.  If USSR infantry are retreating, chase them.  If they stop, kill them.

The 4 waves (infantry/artillery, tanks, mechs, mechs) will catch up at Novosibersk on J6

Moscow falls J8.

Well, the details of how you implement the idea in the game are up to you.  All I’m trying to do is provide some kind of historical justification for your basic concept (restricting how much money the U.S. can spend in each theatre).
