The Carrier and the Fighter (defending in the air) each have a shot against the attackers according to their respective defense value (2 and 4).

thanks guys i appreciate it. cant believe ive been playin the wrong way for a while now. i had units counting one to get on and one to get off in NCM. so only tanks were able to. woops lol

Note that under these circumstances UK cannot regain control of Karelia unless an Axis power takes control of it first and then UK retakes it from the Axis while Russia is still Axis-held.  A power can never take control of a territory directly from an ally.

Only one space, from the direction one of your units came(your choice). And you can only retreat from a battle if the defender still has units. Not if you have sunk them all!
