I…don’t know what to say about the battle in sz98 except…wow?

yeah nice roll! i think i am ready to toss in the towel. Sure, I can keep going for a few rounds, but japan is basically toast. Russia will fall, not on next G turn, but the one after that if I want to. The result is too many units lost
-
Ok.
Just a note, Russia wont fall in two turns.
This assumes you brought all of the big stack + 10tanks (stack behind it) and all your aircraft + 5 S.Bombers.Russia will have the current stack plus 5 fighters and 1 T.Bomber from the UK, 1 fighter from France, 3 fighters from ANZAC, and next turn’s production (probably 9 infantry and 1 fighter, not sure yet).
-
I guess I have overlooked some stuff then. Then I definately throw in the towel here! Nice game on your side. How do you play as axis with the havey pacific buy by usa?
-
Honestly? I am still learning how to play this version of A&A. Every time I think I have it figured out I learn something new. Playing with you has helped a lot.
How would I have defended? Well, at one point I built a lot of production on the Chinese mainland in order to reduce the need for a ferry to reinforce it. That seemed to work alright. Then I built many more carriers to put the existing aircraft on in order to counter the american buildup.
My strategy was to hold off the Americans in the pacific while Germany won europe.
-
Oh, and the other thing is I wouldn’t let Russia hang around with that large of a stack with the americans able to land a force in Korea.

I probably think this is a key point
-
Was thinking about this, a Submarine left next to Japan would prevent the tactic I used (transport landing with fighter only cover).

I will have to look at the details here to see exactely what happened
-
I take it back, I figured out how to defend against a sub being present.
What happened:
Attacker: Transport + 6 fighters
Defender: 2 Fighters
Result: attacker wins, can land. What I was thinking:
Attacker: Transport + 6 fighters
Defender: 1 fighter + Submarine
Result: Transports lost, Defender Fighter lost.Counter I thought I would be forced to use: Commit destroyers which would then be subject to your suicide attacks.
Counter that would work without being subject to suicide attacks: Commit 2 submarines to deal with your submarine. Submarines wouldn’t be subject to the suicide attack.

Anyhow, want to start a new one?
