Well, I lost this game.
If losing my Pacific fleet didn’t already doom me (which I think it did) … then losing all those planes in Ukraine and Manchuria on top of that definitely dooms me.
I just posted through UK to give you an idea of what I was thinking.

Interesting game though. Most of my opponents don’t build German navy like that. Personally, I like German-Mediterranean strategies even though most of the top players don’t.

good game for sure. yea, at first when you posted for my kami orders, i thought oh damn, that could wreck me right there. but then after a few mins of thinking about it, i saw the one critical hole in your plot: LACK OF DESTROYERS! without the dd block, i figured you couldn’t escape anywhere safely from the combined sub and air strike. that move definitely wrecked you, and on top of that, your risky air blitzes didn’t pay off, as i happened to get very lucky :wink:
too bad, cuz you had a pretty strong russia going for you, as well as a heavily fortified egypt. you were slowing me down quite well in those theatres.
one interesting decision that i didn’t get, though: after you took gib, i’m curious why you didn’t send all your UK planes to fortify (and you could’ve even added an air base to further complicate things for me). i mean, you really could’ve hurt my efforts in the med, or at least really slow me down. was pleasantly surprised when you didn’t send the air.
anyway, thanks for the game. i know allies isn’t what you normally prefer, so i appreciate you stepping out of your comfort zone and accepting to play

Sending UK planes from Egypt to Gibraltar didn’t occur to me at the time. I was more worried about Russia (which I assumed would be their ultimate destination). So partly just force of habit. That would have been a good move though.
In hindsight, I should have just landed in the two or three Chinese territories, used blockers (and convoyed SZ6 too), but just sacrifice the transports. Adding to China’s economy and subtracting from Japans, even for one turn helps compensate for the loss … but I got too ambitious and didn’t plan or calc out retreat options.
