but in the first paragraph it says something about an amphious assult. what I am doing is not an amphibious assult?

Part 1, when you can do it: if the enemy (you) are attacking Japanese ships and/or conduct an amphibious assault on a japanese territory.
You were conducting an amphibious assault. So this part is satisfied.Part 2, what can be targeted: surface warships but not submarines or transports.
I cannot target your transport. (Note: if you had a cruiser or battleship taking part in the amphibious assault I could have targeted them. The transport can never be targeted by kamikaze attacks under any circumstances. It’s a strange rule but it is the rule.

Yeah, that was a lot of bad rolling for me. I should have come out of that with about 30 units, not 9.
Yeah, that is what I was calculating too about 30 units. but it is so unpredictable on these battles with large number of units. If I hit slightly above average and you slightly below it is suddenly a 19-15 unit swing on round 1. Then it is a completely different battle. I really dont know what the odds are for the current outcome
