First few builds for USA

This plan doesn’t ignore Japan, that’s a compete foolish move in my opinion. I just build bombers enough to keep Germany annoyed while maintaining a Pacific Fleet. As I said before, I build a 1:1 build against Japan and make sure Hawaii doesn’t get captured.

My comments aren’t aimed at anyone, just pointing what should be obvious to everyone. The best player in the world might be an 8 year old girl living in the Congo for all we know. Not likely, but you get my point.

I believe all the replies apply to Alpha 3 and 2nd ed which is what most here play.  In 1st ed OOB Germany itself starts with a minor factory that can be upgraded.  Actually, I think in 1st ed OOB that you can build a major in ANY 3 ipc+ territory.

Japan is m fav country to play and like many other players I try not to get into static purchaces,  as its easy to counter.  I employ this strat to quickly balance the navy between the US and Japan, forcing US to build more on the pacific side.  Generally the first 2 or 3 turns i play with japan I purchace transports and ground units, I try to get as many troops to the main land so by turn 3  you have so many troops you can afford to slowly filter planes off the mainland to newly bought carriers.  I also load the land up because I find when I go to take the DEI this usually weakens my mainland leaving openings for China an UK.

leave a inf on ever 2nd row of teratoies.  if they destroythe first move the secon in. counters blitzing and doesent waste too many inf

An enemy ank might even stop in the first territory, even when the 2nd territory is open (if behind that you have enough forces, the tank will be dead ehh…. metal)

So it all depends on location and situation.

I build A CV and 2 Ftrs each turn. 3 tech rolls first turn (using AA50 tech tokens) netted me Jet Fighters  :-D.  By US4 I had 3 (soon to be 4) CVs outside SF with 5 Ftrs and a Tac.  2 CVs with 4 Ftrs in the Atlantic.  When I ramped up to 82 IPCs then comes the simultaneous transport build on both sides (more on Atlantic, KGF, imo) along with inf for a USA 5 or USA D-Day.  This way you ensure fleet support for your transports.  Learned my lesson a long time ago in AA50 when my opponent sacked his air force but completely decimated my D-Day fleet setting me back 3 turns.

I’ve also considered doing an Strat Bomber/Ftr build, but the new Alpha+1 rules kind of change that.  The idea would be to knock out Germany’s ability to produce frankly anything, along with killing the Luftwaffe exactly how the US actually did it: using the 8th Air Force to ‘escort’ (in quotes because they were really hunting the Luftwaffe) the bombers and take out the German fighters.  Haven’t tested this though cause it has 2 downfalls: longer time until USA gets D-Day going, and also practically leaves the USA in the dust fleet wise against Japan, which you CAN NOT do now with the new VC rules.
