I hope you don’t mind me asking: is trading units good for the allies? It seems you attack a number of times where you know you’ll lose (SZ 41 for example), but make a more or less even trade. Is that because it’s much harder for the axis to get units back to the front?

I had 56% in SZ 41 and another 11% that only the transport survives (so only 33% chance of failing) so that’s not an attack “I knew I would lose”. On average that would have been a TUV swing of +7, not even counting the transport.
And yes, generally speaking, it’s good to trade units as the Allied player. The allies have more income and more TUV. But the axis have them in a better spot. But usually the axis are approaching Allied factories, so the Allied nations (except the US) can usually produce closer to the frontline.
Additionally, the allied fleet in the pacific is divided into 3 parts: British, American and Anzac. While that fleet is very strong in the defense, I can’t attack as good. When there’s a good opportunity to attack with only anzac or only British ships and even get a slight positive TUV swing, I naturally take it.
The aim is, that the US fleet alone is bigger than the Japanese fleet and thus threatens it.

Oh when I looked at it I thought you % was much lower, must’ve been mistaken. Thanks for all the explanation, seems like a lot of building time before the American fleet is large enough to really threaten the Japanese fleet. Until that time you stay before the ANZAC coast? Because if you move out you might get crushed by all the Japanese fighters…
