New video added (Part 9).

This video was most helpful. Explaining the situations that you can run into, is extremely useful. Nice job, YG! :-)

What is classified as a surface warship? Battleship, Destroyer, and cruisers?
-
Carriers also. Only subs and transports aren’t.

I’ve just started another project for new players, but it will take a long time to complete…

Ok, cool. I’ll be on the lookout. Our game is Sept 19th so I have some time for research. I’m going to be the US player.

Perfect, protect your national objectives in the Pacific, and help ANZAC and UK to deny Japan their island NOs. Then use the majority of your resources for the rest of the game to help UK liberate Paris… Good luck, and have fun.

Just watched the first 9 videos, I really enjoy these YG. Scrambling is a whole new dynamic to the game that I love! This really would have sucked to not know on game day, Thanks again.

Yep, lots of new players forget about those extra 3 @4 coming in to defend an adjacent sea zone. Also, after a player declares that his combat movement is done and is ready to resolve combat, the defending player may say that he scrambles planes into the battle tilting the odds in his favour, and if the attacker wants a redo… they shouldn’t get it IMO because it takes away from the defenders awareness to recognize the opportunity.

thanks the new forum conscripts was helpful

YG,
Been away from the game for a while so I’ve been brushing back up on the rules with your YT videos. Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time and effort. Much appreciated :-)

Correct
That’s a bit of a loophole IMO. They can’t hit the sub on the attack but they can still ignore it.
Loophole? Why? What else than a surface warship should a carrier be? It is way more than just a ‘transport’, just think of the defense value.
Even transports can ignore subs, subs can ignore subs, so why should a carrier (together with all the other surface warships) not be able to ignore subs?
In case you refer to the rule that a transport needs an escorting warship in order to unload from a seazone that contains an (ignored) enemy submarine - this is not related to the ability to ignore or to attack or to hit.
-
I was thinking from the point of view of ignoring a sub to do an amphibious assaults. A CV can be used to escort the TT even though it can’t hit it. If you could scramble a single plane there is zero chance of the amphibious assault proceeding even with a massive air force supporting the attack.
