The pre-digital printing technique that was originally used in comic books (among other applications) is called halftone printing, or halftoning; raster imaging is its digital equivalent. Roy Lichtenstein once painted a giant comic strip panel titled Whaam!, and I think Andy Warhol was also fond of producing oversized images in which the halftone dotting effect was magnified.

Guys,
I think you and I might be the only two guys here that used the OOB fw190s from the 41 set. All other painted 190’s I ve seen on here have been the HBG versions.
**––Not quite,…as I came to this same conclusion a long time ago,…immediately after HBG’s 1st set that included a Fighter unit,…and my OOB FW-190’s were finished a year or more ago.----HBG some time ago apparently made the decision to make thier Fighters smaller than their Tac-Bombers as to aid thier type identification. This is a good idea,…but for me the difference is too much and I prefer the OOB Fighters, sometimes modified/detailed or,… SHAPEWAYS units which are the ultimate in detail!**
Jwo1984, I will be using the OOB ones as well, so make that three of us. :-D
**––That should be at least FOUR,…as I made this decision some time ago and they’re already painted.
**––Also, I used the OOB c.202 Fighters from the A&A-Europe, 2nd Edition for my primary Italian Fighter. (see below for examples)
----Another OOB Fighter that should interest ya’ll is the P-40 Kittyhawk. IMHO it has a much better proportion than the one from HBG.Tall Paul**

Those are really nice Tall Paul. I love the detail!

Sorry I missed your post YG, thanks very much. Remember, its your video that inspired me to build this set :)
I should have the Americans posted this evening or next.
-
USA is finished and ready for war! The set is completely magnetized and painted now. I didn’t repaint some of the USA pieces because Im planning to replace and add many more pieces to USA, Japan and Germany when I receive the pieces from HBG’s Amerika set and USA expansion set. Also plan to update the Germans with pieces from their set which should be in production after the USA expansion set is released. I really love the pieces HBG has made for this game. I just wish the China factory was a bit more quicker in their production.
-
Great job! A question about the roundels: are they OOB or are they something else? They look much nicer than the OOB ones (for instance the sharper colours).
-
I used HBG’s roundels, the ones made of wood or particle board. It made it easier to drill into and insert the magnet. I didn’t want to glue the magnet to the back of a cardboard roundel.
-
Cyanight, you did a super job on this set. The amount of pieces you have painted in such a short time, is simply amazing. You are definitely a war machine, LOL. :-D
-
Thank you very much John. I will still be adding some pieces to this set at a later date.

Cool, looking forward to seeing more. :-D

End of November is fast approaching Cyanight …. Hopefully HBG pulls through and we get these Amerika pieces! Looking forward too seeing yours painted
-
December first and still no notification from HBG on the Amerika set. I wish they would quit giving us false hope and just tell us when they expect the pieces. They showed the pieces being shipped last month so it cant be a production delay. I don’t think in the future I will preorder from HBG.
-
Yea I’m not sure if it’s inexperience or just being a small busniess and not having the pull so too speak. I backed the game cause I really wanted the pieces and was afraid it wouldn’t get produced. I gave up timeline hope on Amerika back in summer.
It’s the expansion and supplement sets that kill me on production time. Pre orders are set waaaay to early in terms of the actually delivery date. -
Cyanight…you heard any word from HBG on Amerika?
-
Not yet sir. Still waiting. I was planning on calling them again.
-
Ok if your hear anything please let us know thanks!
-
Here are some pieces I just finished painting.
Here are the new minor complexes if we decide to use the three tier system.
