Upsized Map of 1942 (2nd edition) has anyone made it yet?

I’m in the process of revamping the webiste/blog. As part of that, I have realized that I’m missing some important pieces: high resolution images of the box covers and maps.

If I do this myself, I will take months so I need your help. If one person takes on one games, we can finish in days instead of months.

Who can volunteer?

Also, I know that some of theses already exist in the world so lets use this thread to consolidate the links.

I updated my setup cards to have a front and back side to them. The front being the setup and the back having purchase info, Attack and Defense, and Images to help with identifying pieces on the board…mainly the boats. We found we have had to get the rule book out to make sure we purchase the correct boats (Destroyer vs Cruiser). It can be difficult to identify and keep track of these units. You can print these out at a local print shop. I printed on thin PVC material and had them laminated. Here are the cards.

And I agree with Gimp. That’s the tool I used for working on my map files.

Thanks MR, it was also because I had all the bits needed just sitting in a box.

If it catches on, I’ll move to Anniv. or 1942.2 and use the extra 1942.1 pieces as needed in those games.

I’m not a huge fan of unique/individual sculpts in the first place.
So getting 1941 for the sculpts isn’t appealing to me.
(I like the Pac. 1940 1st ed. ANZAC sculpts over the 22nd ed. ones-except the infantry)

So recently , i decided to make a new version of AA based in 1940. I need someone to finalize a map for this. I do not have the tech know how or the software required to make this a reality. This map will be released to the masses and you will be credited as the map desginer.

With the complexity of modifications you’re attempting, you might want to illustrate a map by hand and then scan it. Once you have the territory proportions edited on paper and scanned, you can than modify and touchup in the design programs you mentioned. Your task seems very ambitious and I hope to see your final version some day, in the mean time… Imperious Leader may have some advise as he is the most experienced map maker of us all.
