Should Cow Make a Strategy Guide for 1914?

For those interested the last 3 rounds were played out.

The final score after 6 full rounds was Entente 29 Central Powers 27.

I’m not an expert either, but I disagree that fighters are a luxury. I think they’re absolutely essential, unless you just want to throw infantry into the meat grinder. I agree with most of the rest though.

Fighters are not a luxury. You defiantly need fighters.

Going full Russia in my experience is a standard play by the Cp. All of them are bordering Russia, and it becomes a meatgrinder in our games in which Russia has two or three battles (one for each power), or one or two battles with a combination of Austria and Germany. Ive even had battles with all 3 cps in there. Its not too difficult to defeat Russia especially with the tourney rules i always play with. France is fun for me cause you gotta think outside the box.

I usually set “Traps” as Russia. It draws as many units as possible into the Eastern Front long enough for America to land in force in France.

I think I like that.  It’s simple, and it doesn’t involve a special rule to give Switzerland a bigger army than its IPC value would indicate.  But it might have to be two turns, or maybe instantaneous, to be a real deterrent.  I guess that would have to be tested.

Would be neat to see the Chinese communists represented, they should have special guerrilla abilities (may be placed in an occupied territory, attacks on a 3 for the first round). They should also get an IPC bonus (maybe 3-4) if nearby Russia maintains nearby territories. Goes without saying they can’t occupy the same territories as Nationalist units.

Canada is definitely a no-brainer, I would let them start with what’s on the board and just add a destroyer at SZ1, and they get a 5 IPC bonus if they control all their original territories plus Newfoundland/Labrador.
