    Sometimes it does that when you confuse it -
    I think in my experience it’s when I’m in history and on a line that is in edit mode, and exit history from there.  I now try to always exit history when it is on a line that is not edit mode.  Just a possibility, for your future reference

    I would not scramble. Your assumption is right. What I don’t understand is why you offer US ftr @ Guam another roll in the case of the scramble. You rolled already 5 for the ftr that must be applied to any scramble decision. I’m just looking forward  to facing similar situations when a scramble/OOL/intercept assumption might be wrong and  suggest making as less re rolls as possible.

    This is an interesting point and I think there is no common agreement to those scramble assumptions.

    My understand is: Doing assumptions is somehow against the rules and in case of doubt it goes in favor of the defender in that situation.
    the player could insist that a ground fight is not the same like an air battle and that the gound fight dice would have never happened as the air battle takes place before.

    I am just hijacking this because I am interested in other point of views on that matter as scramble decision assumptions definitely have a lot of value to keep the game pace high, so we might need some “rules” on how such situations should be handled.

    When I said you could re-roll it, I meant re-roll.  I would not expect you to keep the 5.  As JDOW says, the defender gets every advantage when the attacker blows through a decision like this.

    I understand keeping all dice rolled as much as possible, but that was not my intent.  I should have been even more clear, but I thought when I said “you can roll the fighter against the cruiser/battleship” you would catch my meaning, that you would roll dice for the cruiser/battleship, and then roll anew for your fighter (for round 1).  Keeping the die roll if it was a miss, would kind of screw you over in a way, and since I was the one taking the liberty, I did not want to give you any disadvantage whatsoever.

    Do you ever make assumptions like this?  If so, how do you handle it?
