    I have 1ftr escorting 3 strat bombers hitting Moscow. You have 2 Russian and 2 British fighters that could intercept. If you do intercept, would it be safe to assume you’d lose the brits over the Russians?

    And I was living in a house with several roommates and one of them had a stalker ex-BF. Needless to say over a 2 month period we had 9 tires slashed; 4 mine, 3 for another guy, and 2 for another guy. Never could prove it was him either.

    Bleh, tire slashers deserve a swift kick in the nuts by both Jet Li and Chuck Norris!. I hope it wasn’t sidewall damage!

  • I’m not trying to take anything away from you, but when I lose (likely to happen unless the dice really start loving on me) I think that the dice will have played a huge role in it.

    11 axis aircraft dead in the first 4 rounds of the war and all of them on the European side of things. Germany has bought 6 aircraft and yet they’re down to 9 fighters and bombers. I expect to lose some aircraft in the various attacks but 11 is getting a little ridiculous in 4 rounds of combat.  :oops:

  • I’m going to redo my turn and edit the combats to reflect. In the original I did 6 damage on the SBR, UKR was twol, and I lost the 2 strats . . .

    I’m not sure which would be sadder, losing 2 bombers on the 2nd SBR or not losing any and doing max damage. Check timestamps for the real battles.

    Against a weak opponent, I think I could sustain losing that much air this early and still have a good shot to win. Against a strong opponent like you, well that’s a handicap you really don’t need at all. The frustrating thing is outside of sz110 and perhaps the recent Moscow SBR failure you haven’t really gotten that outstanding of dice. It’s just an extra unit dead outside of the expected norm. But when it’s expensive units like air or tanks, well that’s just painful.  :x

    Come to think of it sz91 would never have happened had sz110 not gone so disastrous for me. Which would’ve meant the sz97 would’ve been stronger and potentially could’ve wiped you out sooner and not given you another round of air killing.  :cry:

    You pretty much summed up what I was thinking. That one round of failure in 110 had a lot of repercussions. And that SBR was… special. If it makes you feel any better, you’re stealing luck from my other games for this one :). And a good opponent would’ve split some forces into Tambov last round to prevent that stack in Rostov… was kicking myself as soon as I did it. Still have a long ways to go. Never played against a J4 before, it really sucks as the US :P.

  • Cruisers both missed, so that’s a non issue. One of the bbs got a hit (should’ve specified which bb shot wouldn’t count) but I got 3 hits from the ground/air units involved. So that too was not an issue.

    A J4 does crimp USA’s options, but it really hurts Japan as well. My thought was the Japanese would really help Germany cut Russia down to size. But I’m not sure how that’ll end up working out with the losses the Luftwaffe’s sustained. You hereby have my permission to use all your luck elsewhere and henceforth get bad luck! Lord knows I can use it.

    And I found the game that my luck seems to have found itself, check out my game against hobo. Eerily similar in the 1st round. I won sz111 vs your sz110. But similarities include parts of the RN surviving, German air losses, and a Japanese invasion of Russia. I went a different route than you because of differences in bids and which part of the RN/RAF survived (had to give up hitting sz97).

    I know I’ve complained about the dice. But that’s my coping mechanism and I can also recognize when my opponent suffers. (Iraq here and sz111 vs hobo)  :wink:
