Exactly! It was one those games where after round one that you knew you had a big uphill battle ahead of you lol.

From the image you referenced, you’re playing the 1st Edition, the forum for which can be found here.  OutlawUnForgiven’s comments about air unit suicide missions apply to both editions.

Good luck. I have something kicking around I’m about to try but am concerned about posting it here since I think my opponent may or may not read these forums :)

Suffice it to say, any strategy that does not apply Negative-IPC pressure to Germany (or Japan, although, I don’t have a clue how any KJF strategy would work) prior to Round 4, and applies significant threats to multiple German key territories, to me, spells automatic failure for the Allies.

I told you the game wouldn’t let me do that turn. I think we have to restart, but I really only want to play live. I think it is just much easier.

Am setting it up now and we should get 4 hours play tomorrow morning before my parents bring Maddy back to us. She will probably want it packed away soon after!
Will give her a DD, not Sub, as I will refrain from attacking US fleet that way, 2 Inf for Russia and one in India and Egypt. That ought to do it.

He can play poker with 1941. His point is are the two games just different versions 41 and 42 of the same game, same rules?

The games are not compatible and are stand alone games with no relation.

I understood that he is expecting that the new ruleset would be the same for 1942 2nd Ed.

Anyways, he can play poker or he can take the 1941 ruleset and try it on Spring 1942 2nd Edition. I’ve done it myself with Spring 1942 1st Ed. :) did it shorten the game?

What shortens the game on 1941 is the smaller map and the reduced income. The changes in game play (no strat bombing, etc.) have no almost no effect on the speed of play.
