    I apologize for having you send up the fighters without asking, especially since it worked to my advantage.  I was actually under the impression that you needed a airbase to scramble fighters against a SBR - but I was wrong.  I figured, ah well.  I’ll probably lose my bomber, but it’s a learning experience.

    Were I in your position, I would definitively have sent up the fighters.  That said, it’s entirely your call how you’d like to handle things.  We could ignore the attack entirely - no damage to your IC and you get your fighter back, which is what I would have done if I had known you could have scrambled in the first place.  You could say you wouldn’t have sent up fighters, and you get your fighter back.  Or we could do something else I’m overlooking.

    Again, sorry.  I thought I was taking one on the chin as a reminder to read the rules more carefully!  I fully expected to lose my bomber.  So, your call.  Feel free to edit as appropriate.
