Yea that happened on an episode of Bonanza. It was Hoss in his jimmy’s getting a ham sandwich. Little Joe rigged some bottles so he could force Hoss to stay on his diet and win the $1500 bet at the Flapjack eating contest.

Here’s hoping for better days ahead.  I’m very sorry to hear of this tragedy and the suffering you all are going through

I have lived in North Carolina for about a dozen years now, and one thing that has become a “given” here is that there is ALWAYS a hurricane threatening the NC coast Memorial Day weekend.

I have lost track of all the names.  I remember there was one back in '99 (Dennis I think?) that made landfall in NC the week before Labor Day, and then looped around and made landfall AGAIN labor day weekend (landfall in almost exactly the same spot in Onslow County 1 week later…)

This year the threat is Millie Ray Cyrus…  Oops, I mean Hanna.

Katrina take 2 in New Orleans from Gustav, Hanna Montana causing havoc as she heads for the Carolinas…

I need to start planning on going home to visit family in Pennsylvania over Labor Day.  After all, Agnes was an EARLY season storm, and the last to play havoc with the folks in Western PA, and that was about 35 years ago… :-)

    This is all you need to know about Jesus of Nazerith, the Messiah of the Jews, ( the chosen one, which in Greek is Christos).
This is how it went down;
  About 2007 years ago a child was born to a woman named Mary.
  Jesus as a young man performed many miracals, (well documented by all the news services at the time) some of which even the Emperor of Rome heard about.
  He professed the “good news” that whoever believed what he had come into this world to teach us and followed the lifestyle that He professed, (that is, how to treat one another as outlined in the Beattitudes) then you shall know everlasting joy in the presence of your Creator.
  As was foretold in the ancient Hebrew Tora, (Bible) God sent his only Son to be the final sacrifice that would allow mankind to be removed from the laws of Moses allowing all mankind to be able to converse directly to Him through prayer. So, Jesus was beaten, humiliated, and then went willingly to the cross for crimes that he did not commit.
After 3 days he rose from the grave and was seen by many! He proved that death of the physical body was not the end of our existence. That God had the power over death, and that all mankind had the right to obtain that gift.
How is this accomplished?
By faith, and by the rebirth of the Holy Spirit in you.
Take heed, it takes a brave soul to make such a leap of faith. And the sacrifices one has to make are no less than a change of heart and of lifestyles. Too much for some sad to say.
But for those that do, rest assurd a better future awaits them.

No, they love me!  I gave my wife a 5 stone anniversary band for Mother’s Day.  Pretty sure I’m going to be allowed to play my 360!

isnt it interesting, that in america we celebrate the 4th of july as our independence day, when the actual declaration was signed on the 2nd of august?

The signing of the document was really the anticlimax. It was adopted by congress on July 4th 1776.

They started to sign it on August 2nd but the signing wasn’t compeated until much later, monthes later, if I remember right.

Yeah, I was going to say that too. That was pretty devestating to the Army of Northern Virginia. Over 60 percent causalities… I can’t think of anything worst than that.
