  • New at this and still trying to figure out the rules and procedures. Checked the rules on LL and found no exception for subs. Would appreciate learning the steps for using the forum dice.

    Actually I haven’t read the LL rules myself. Haven’t even looked for them. I learned LL from a friend. When I was making the decision on using forum dice I was consulting this part of the rules in the rulebook (under sea battle):

    “In both steps 3 and 4, submarines that fired in step 2 can’t fire again during the same combat round. If there is an enemy destroyer in the battle, submarines fire in step 3 or 4 rather than step 2.”

    With this in mind I thought it ok to roll a sub and a fig as a 1@5 which I knew tripleA wouldn’t do. Too minimize the variance…

    In order to use forum dice you just have to type it in like this
    :?aaa 1@1 1@3 1@4?: <– this is an example for an inf a fig and a tb. You have to leave the “?” out. They are only there so I can illustrate how it is written without the dices start rolling.

    ahhh sry didn’t notice your post…

    Yeah with no enemy DD the subs roll separately which means that a sub and a strategic bomber wouldn’t be a guaranteed hit and could even be two hit but there’s really no way aournd that as I see it. You have a similar situation if you have airplane and ships but no DD’s on one side and subs on the other. You have to roll them separately cause the planes can’t hit the subs…
