No land units for either side on island and ships cannot exert their attackpower

Thanx, was a little fuzzy in the rules on that one, but clear as a bell now :-D

It would be easy to mark them, you could simply tip them on their sides like in revised / classic 2 hit battleships.

I think I’ll try this, but I will still require that payment be made to repair them.

Ok, so an empty (US) island on which the japanese land a single AA gun without backing it up with bombardment remains in US hands? Damn, then I missed out on one more INF on my last turn assault…

I like the fact that both units can be on an island and not have to keep battling until someone owns it.

It tooks days to take Iwo Jima.

Me too.  We were using one supply token for every ship sent and only sending them during the resupply phase.  We were spending huge amounts of money getting ships onto the board.  No wonder our game was dragging on way past turn five.
