New Global War Expansion Sets need voting on.

While I didn’t vote for the Zombie Apocalypse add-on, because it is not what I want from this game, I do think someone can (will) make money by producing a fun game on this subject. I don’t think A&A rules are the right way to do it, however.

There are so many great-sounding sets here that’s it going to be a challenge to limit myself to just five, so it’ll be be interesting to see which five I’ll end up picking.  No idea yet which one’s they’ll be – this will require serious thought!  Thanks for this preview of HBG’s next projects and for the opportunity to provide input!

yeah the ONLY 5 part was the hard part. I would be all for just starting at the beginning of the war and making expansions from there

WOW!! these options are really something…

BUT i would rather HBG spend money to just redo the map by a professional artist.

WHY?  because the aesthetic of all these new pieces and in some cases painted, makes the map look amateurish. Instead of more pieces spend $1,500 and have the map redone like a standard AA style map. It is really worth the investment and now the pieces and new map look Ike they belong together.

I would love to see what this Zombie thing is about…

I voted for the sets that I think will help fix the biggest issues with the game. Such as where is the Battle of the Atlantic? Type stuff. I hope everyone else will do the same vote to fix issues.

Could you tell us a little more about the plan with the expansions?  They sound great.  Are the units going to be plastic units or roundels with labels?  Do you have an ETA?

Nice, but I miss a Leader/HQ unit expansion. A plastic Rommel, Patton or Monty, that re-roll misses. Wont be a cheap unit since we have to pay for his education at the war academy, but in a large battle he will be vital. Lets imagine your 12 tanks roll 3 hits and 9 misses. Now the Leader/HQ unit will re-roll that 9 misses, and add 4 more hits.

This plastic unit can even be incorporated in your Diplomatic expansion. If you want to obtain benefits from a neutral then you have to place a plastic Rommel in that country. Now you can fly-over or transit troops through that territory. Maybe even get some IPC’s to represent trade.

I already placed my votes. It was really hard to choose. I’d really like some better info on what will be in each set. However I see where Coach and HBG need to make the best decision on what to produce and that it is in the “idea” or concept stage.

I agree with IL on the maps. They don’t look bad but they could look better.

As far as units go I’d like to see more escorts, transports, and experimental weapons. I (just IMO) could care less about “nicer” versions of the OOB units if they come at the cost of new types or differing models. That being said I love the HBG Tigers vs. OOB Tigers and they do well to supplement the quantity of OOB units. The HBG D3A-Val will do well to replace the short quantity in my AAP40.1 edition.

This is probably just a pipe-dream but, I would love a Cold War set in multiple colors for the West and East that has helicopters and the like.

Anyway HBG has accomplished something no one else has done and I will continue to be a loyal and frequent customer.

I was thinking instead of Battle of Britian expansion. (seeing as it’s getting so few votes) Increasing the scope of the expansion might help out alot. Include the American/UK bomber offensive against Germany. P-47s, Night Fighters, Me-163s would all be in play

----I also remember from a couple of years ago FMG posted their B-24 Heavy Bomber sculpt. It was stunning.  :-o
––I am VERY EXCITED that we’ve finally progressed from the “I dream of” stage of a few years ago, to the “soon to be produced” stage. In these HBG Expansion Sets we should be getting a vertual plethora of NEW UNITS that will not only be cool, but introduce more NEW UNIT TYPES, too. I mean, Doug has already mentioned PBYs, DE-Escort Destroyers, and a whole spectrum of amphibious ships.

i saw them unfortunately FMG says there molds got stolen so they don’t have them going anymore :(. I got there Italian set and they were pretty good. The subs could have been better but other than that I have no complaints.
