Scramble from Hawaii into SZ28?
2014 G40 league rules
-
I think we should have a league rule that UnknownSoldier and TheWell-KnownSoldier play each other in a league game. :-P
-
I have in two different posts now come across the notion that the bidding placement (in the league) are to be limited to one unit per territory. Is this the case? If it is the case should it not be edited into the first post on this tread and are there any other hidden rules out there?

As far as I know there isn’t a rule per se. But most players arrange this in during the bidding process.

Right. Default is, there is no limit. If you don’t specify, there is no limit.
-
Default is also to play by the rulebook if not specified otherwise, so if you want to close the weird fleet/sub combat move/noncombat move loophole where you can’t attack a sub in your zone and also move out in non-com at the same time, you have to specify and agree to that.
-
Good to know. :-)

I should clarify that you don’t just specify. Both players must agree, to depart from league rule defaults.
-
What?!? You mean that if I specify that I win the game by capturing France that’s not valid? :-D
-
Now you got it
-
But if your opponent agrees, then it is valid :-D
-
For the league finals…. I would like to see a best of 3.
-
Could certainly be voluntary, but will not be mandated.
We still have an 8-man playoff that’s not done yet and its final is not even best of 3
-
Round robin would be awesome. Only 7 games do em all at once.
-
That’s actually a great idea. More thorough, yet it’s all completed in one round instead of going three rounds deep, so it should end much more quickly….
-
Talk to me and Jenn near the end of the league year when we’re setting up next year. This year is set.

To throw a suggestion out there, are you guys aware of the Ladder Leagues over at GTO?

Everyone who participates in the league is organized into divisions (presumably divisions of 3-5). One then moves up and down the ladder according to their performance in the division.
Each round lasts 2 months. Each player would play 1 game vrs everyone in the division. 2-4 games over 2 months. At the end of the 2 month period we tally up the results. The winner of the division moves up, the loser moves down, while the winner of the “Champions” division is the “champion”. Tie-breakers are determined by head-to-head games (eg if 2 players end up 2-1, then the winner of the match between them wins the division).
Given the length and complexity of Global, I would lean towards divisions of 4. We could use Gamer’s ranking system for the initial dividing up.
This 1) it allows us to pursue glory on our own time rather than wait for a league playoff 2) groups us into competitive divisions, making for good contests.
Some challenges/complexities include 1) someone has to moderate the league–perhaps a rotating position? 2) if a player takes a break for 2 months, should they go to the bottom or merely go down one division? 3) should new players start at the bottom 4) should more experienced, higher rated players get to start near the top?

sounds very interesting

Can axis land air on proaxis in same turn they activate it? For example, G1 land air in Bulgaria?
-
no, not possible.
