To throw a suggestion out there, are you guys aware of the Ladder Leagues over at GTO?

Everyone who participates in the league is organized into divisions (presumably divisions of 3-5). One then moves up and down the ladder according to their performance in the division.
Each round lasts 2 months. Each player would play 1 game vrs everyone in the division. 2-4 games over 2 months. At the end of the 2 month period we tally up the results. The winner of the division moves up, the loser moves down, while the winner of the “Champions” division is the “champion”. Tie-breakers are determined by head-to-head games (eg if 2 players end up 2-1, then the winner of the match between them wins the division).
Given the length and complexity of Global, I would lean towards divisions of 4. We could use Gamer’s ranking system for the initial dividing up.
This 1) it allows us to pursue glory on our own time rather than wait for a league playoff 2) groups us into competitive divisions, making for good contests.
Some challenges/complexities include 1) someone has to moderate the league–perhaps a rotating position? 2) if a player takes a break for 2 months, should they go to the bottom or merely go down one division? 3) should new players start at the bottom 4) should more experienced, higher rated players get to start near the top?
