ran outta places to attack…nice containment :-)

It’s been 5 days now and no word from soulblighter. He didn’t respond to my email either. Should I keep waiting? Allies are dominating anyway (file had gotten too big to post so we took it to pbem).

I have had severe internet issues. I am able to come online now due to a mobile internet device. I may be able to finish my remaining games, but I would have to test how that goes.
So this is a general message to all my opponents. Please be patient. I hope to resume and finish (concede or otherwise) before the end of this league season.

Mallery (Allies +11) over Entek (Axis)

Bjergmose, just so you know, you don’t have to bump 4 times if you have no response for 9 days (it’s an either/or).
You could have claimed the win on September 28 (or October 14, when you first bumped) if you wanted.

Axis Dominion (Allies +6) over Soulblighter (Axis)
http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?board=54.0I had a lot of fun this game and normally I might have played it out completely even if the Axis no longer had any viable way of winning, however lack of proper internet and all that. This game both sides made mistakes. The allies allowed the Axis to capture the UK and after a rather sweet migration the Japanese reached Europe and landed ground forces in the UK. The Axis also used a long blockade in Z101 to deny the US a lot of ipcs for a lot of turns. Unfortunately the axis became greedy and stayed in Z101 1 turn to long, allowing the US to capture Gibraltar. Sadly the game was over then. It was a fun game and all that. I guess the biggest learning point is that convoying the US out of valuable ipcs is definitely worth it :D. Seeing the US with only 29 ipcs is kinda funny :D.

Snake11eyes Axis over Karl7
http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=34490.105
Another (as we need anymore) example of 12 bid being too low. US went all out against Japan, and even by round 7 was not able to decisively defeat it. Japan can conquer much of Asia and then just buy planes, sit on its but, and play sucker punch with the US. Something not right here with the game.
Next league I will play the Allies only with 20+ bids and see what happens. :-P

Karl, I would submit to you that China is worth too much money. Some of their territories should be worth 0. Then Japan can’t get so much income from taking China, and China can’t turn on Japan so rapidly as it does in other games.
-
And yes, just the fact that you’re .359 with Allies and .500 with Axis even though you play Allies a lot more, indicates that you are bidding too low. Stick the other guy with the Allies once in a while. Or are you like a friend of mine who just hates to lose any bidding war?

Balladeer beat variance (allies +12).

Ha, well, I used to think I was stronger as the Axis but then decided I liked playing the Allies better. Axis play has gotten so much better in the last while. Really an order of magnitude better.

That’s my experience as well…
When I play the Allies, I have to invest heavily in the pacific, otherwise Japan is completely unstoppable. But it takes 5 full rounds of full investments of the US to at least have the same navy+airforce size as Japan.
Quite a long time for Germany to conquer Egypt…

Not only Egypt but also build up a fleet to stop any belated Allies relief effort for the USSR.

Oh come now Karl, who would do a devious thing like that?

That’s why bids are going up? Sp take the Axis yourself at +12 or squeeze out way more from your opponent:)
