He went a little light on France and got diced, forcing Italy to take them. With some effort, it was much easier to contain Italy than Germany.
He also stated he’s done with Axis & Allies?!? Hope this game didn’t break him. If you play long enough, Germany will not take France for everybody. Happened to me in one of my recent ongoing Tech games!

a fast match which probably was over in the second turn or third turn, but we kept on to see if the power balance would shift but it certainly didn’t
