What zoom % do you use, Karl??
50% is the best I can do on my screen
Yeah, that’s not a good view. I can go at 35%
Don’t miss details. 100% plus a real map aside. :-)

Bjergmose (Allies) lost to Rasmustb (axis)

Well, the great Gargantua vs Karl7 G40 battle on the actual board went into the wee hours of the night without a victor. I was the Axis and Garg the Allies. Bid was 9, which was sub in med and inf in Sudan.
The Germans were closing in on Moscow and Japan on India. However, we jumped one turn ahead to Germany to see if it could take Moscow and it was clear it would still need to build up for a couple turns.
Garg also did a blitz run against Japan, which while it did succeed in destroying the garrison fleet, it did not result in the capture of Japan, which he attempted. Japan’s main fleet was south, so it would have to bring some of it back to defend the homeland, but otherwise the Pacific and the money Islands were Japan’s. China was defeated, but India was like Moscow heavily defended but Japan had large tank forces closing in.
Garg had managed to choke Italy with subs and the Atlantic was in his control. No major allied European landings loomed however.
ALl in all a good game. The dice were rather squirrelly. It seemed like we were playing low luck dice at times.
Anyhow, it ended when my wife came down at 2am and seeing the large amounts of beer bottles and blaring music declared we had to go to bed….
Who would have won? Hard to say. There was still too much game left.
I will be sure to hit him up when I am up here next.
GG!

Just a coincidence that its just right after the monumental karl/garg matchup but…
In the spirit of great F2F matchups… Bold just happens to be in Gamer’s neck of the woods and Gamer just happens to possibly be available for a fast and loose fun game… we will see if it takes shape. Just in case, what do we think is a fair allied bid gamer? What say we agree on a number and decide sides with a coin flip perhaps? Or we can bid but if we are going to bid, let’s start the bid now. This would NOT be a league game :-) and strictly for fun and for old times sake!
first ever full F2F game of global? we will see.

Anyone who’s played dozens of complete games on Triple A but never on a board NEEDS to play it on a board once

You lucky guys: I envy you all.
I know the feeling Karl: wife coming downstairs unable to sleep from the now very loud drunken playing and saying something loving…reminding you that you are getting up with the baby at 6, not her! -
bid was inf Yunnan, ftr Russia, trn Z39
Update: We are at G2.

then the action: 111 gamer loses 2 subs and a ftr in round 1 and a second ftr in round 2. THEN in 110 gamer opened with only 2 hits. the british responded with a perfect 6/6. i offered to take an average result in this battle so the game could continue.russian buy - 6 inf, 3 mech, arm. russians stack yunnan with 2 ftr, mech. mech arm to szech and kazak.
J1 - japs attack yunnan with max force. 3 hits on offense, 5 hits on defense. japs reatreat but take no losses in hunan.

IC on egypt leaving a juicy target in alexandria of 3 inf, art, mech, arm, ftr.

That sounds like a rough Axis opening!
-
No calcs for players who use them all the time, and volatile dice - making for good times
I can’t get over the size of this board (even though I own it and have played with it several times, although it’s been awhile) - G40 feels like a REAL game
-
I’ve got a couple pics of the Garg game. You guys should post some pics!
-
Axisandalliesplayer (with whom I very much enjoyed talking about the World Cup) has not been on line for a while now. Could I claim a victory please?
He was Axis and I had a bid of 12. -

axis-dominion +11 over Whack.
I got diced hard, failing to take London in a ~95% chance. (50% AA fire!! :-o and it only got worse) Then Japan got smacked around in Yunnan where it should have been a victory. I don’t know if I would have won had they worked out as supposed to, but at least I would have had a chance.

Let me know if any of you guys come to Spain sometime and we will have one here with a nice barbacue.
By the way, this sunday I was flying playing A&A with Triple A with another frequent passenger I met… and the guy in front of us could not help asking for info, we will possibly see him here soon. Like Karl says, spreading the A&A revolution…
