    Since its 5 against 1 I am going to assume you don’t want to intercept.  If you do, then on Italy’s turn you can roll a forum dice roll for the air battle (5@1 attacker versus 1@1 defender) and if you hit I would lose a fighter, so the bombers aren’t affected either way.

    OK so once again, if you wanted to intercept the SBRs on West Germany by USA and/or UK you can roll those before Italy’s turn.  Both SBRs had 2 bombers and 3 escorts versus your 1 fighter that could intercept.  If you did that and got a hit I would lose a fighter but most people would not intercept with those bad odds.  :-)
