Subs & Destroyers. Help settle a dispute.

@dylan64 Yeah Larry Harris setup nerfs the German starting setup to the point where they can no longer consistently kill 100% on UK’s starting navy. That goes a long ways towards making life more manageable for them. Give it a try.

How does Combat involving 2-hit battleships work? If you have 5 battle ships bombarding 5 infantry, and the infantry get all 5 hits, can you spread the hits out over all 5 of your battleships. If you can do that, couldn’t you just retreat and your battleships get repaired?

In a sea battle your example would work. Imagine 5 battleships attacking 5 destroyers. The attacker fails to hit and the defending destroyers score 5 hits.
The attacker can now assign the five hits to just damage all of the five battleships. After that round of combat the attacker may retreat - and the battleships are repaired.

I noticed, yeah. Pretty cool indeed.

A sub can choose to attack an enemy sub yes, but……

The enemy sub can choose to:

Submerge thus ending the combat and living to fight another day or… Fight, both subs get a first shot I believe and could destroy each other.  Perhaps the sub is performing convoy escort duty for transports and decided to fight to protect the transports.

Of course the presence of destroyers on either side will modify this sequence.
