True story, a lone aa gun saved my butt against a buddy of mine.
We were playing classic A&A and Japan was kicking butt as usual (hint I was axis). The axis were poised to win with Japan controlling Asia and the Pac. So Japan sent it’s navy to the med to help Germany stay alive and Russia had just been taken by Japan.
We were playing with Paratroopers and he somehow snuck a US bomber in range of a completely empty Japan save a lone aa gun. He flies said bomber with a little infantry to walk-in. Note, all my production had been going towards the mainland factories and the nearest IJN transport was 3 moves away from recapturing it.
I had to roll the aa gun to save my capital from being sacked and all the plunder money from Moscow + Japanese production from falling into the wrong hands. Needless to say, my aa gun rolled a ‘1’ and I ended up winning the game. I was always extra cautious about his bomber location from then on.

Yeah, I thought so too. My buddy however was pretty pissed at me for awhile. He laughs at it now, but oh boy he could’ve passed for a tomato there for a bit, he was THAT pissed.

turned out pretty well in the end - a near COMPLETE DISASTER. just a minor disaster as it turned out.
yeah after seeing the aaguns sharp shooting, i thought it was going to be a disaster.
definitely did not turn out to be a disaster, just bad.
