XDAP Final… eh, i mean, Semifinal - Allweneedishank vs. TeamBoldDutch

  • '12

    Bid down like league rules.

  • '12

    Or if that is not how the league does it then I say lets do it that way I like it better.  We have time cuz hank is away anyways.  We can get there in no time I am sure.

    @Boldfresh:

    Garg has the authoritah… now show him the respect

    @Boldfresh:

    You can changw any combat moves prior to a dice roll unless a scramble or intercept choice was givwn.  Then you must ask to change combat moves.

    awesome

    @Boldfresh:

    Also u can only change noncoms without asking up until the next team rolls combat dice.  Then u must request it without expecting to get it.

    very logical

    To state more clearly yet… up until a combat move is posted by the other team bcuz a combat move post requesting a scramble or intercept choice could make the other want to change a noncom related to the choice.

    i like it

    The way I have always done it is a descencing bid from a positive bid for the side that is generally considered to be weaker at starting setup.

  • '12

    I understand there issome argument out there that this Iis less efficient.  Nonetheless I prefer it if u will oblige.

    Cheers

  • '12

    But yes I understand how under the other bidding scheme you did offer a legitimate bid.

  • '12

    So, I am willing to take allies with bom plus 500 ipc.  Please offer a lower bid at which u are willing to play allies or I will let you know my placement of the 500 ipc.

    yeah i noticed that axisandallies.org league and play by forum seems to have always been using a system where you say you will take the side you think is weaker and a really high ipc amount. its not really a bid, it is kind of the opposite of a bid.

    in face to face tournaments and old school triplea live lobby and triplea warclub we would use an auction and would bid for sides.
    i think this makes most sense. this is the method i would like to use and we already opened with the first bid.

    if you don’t want to use this bid system you can tell me to stop being such a wimp and just roll for sides. but don’t undervalue the best part of our offer, being called “supreme allied commanders”

  • '12

    I will take one allied inf in every territory possible.  Then I will take a destroyer in every territory possible until the money is under 8.  Then the rest of the ipc I will place in the bank of sydney.

  • '12

    Gl and have fun.  If u win you will be very well preparwd to face cow on every level.

    Oh and by the way for future reference, when in rome…. right?

  • '12

    In case that is unclear, we are playing a tournament on axisandallies.org.  if garg says to do it other than the teadition of this site then I will comply.

  • '12

    Bibby bop doowop… dand shidang diggy diggy…

  • Why dont you start the bidding with an high but feasible bid? Like in the 30es?

    Hmm I may have spoken too soon.  :lol:

    Lets go love how bout a counter bid

  • '12

    We have been bidding that way all year long in the league and it works just fine.  Hold off on the jedi mind tricks until g1 has at least been posted  :roll:

  • '10

    Bidding down is the way it has always been done on A&A.org…. and I am pretty sure the way it has been done this entire tournament.

    It is not an “opposite bid”.  You are saying “I will take the Allies if you give me ‘X’ to spend with the Allies prior to the open”.  The other side says, “No, I will take the Allies if you give me Y to spend with the Allies prior to the open.” etc., etc.  That is a bid, because the process assumes a disadvantage for the Allies. Not all auctions bid up.  For example, some mortgage auctions bid down due to a certain encumbrace or deficiency/liability of the property.

    guess no one wants to play us dutch.  cow and veq have been stalling for a month.  now it looks like hank and love are taking lessons from cow.  sheesh.
