Got it, I didn’t see that I also had a FAQ, was thinking I only had the CLASSIFIED clarification
Now I see my specific question is answered, the carriers could not even split up during a combat move that ends in the same place
Spoke too soon. A “small” Russian edit will allow the game to continue…
Posting revised J14 to the forum soon.

there are actually 3 infantry in volgo. so please just edit one more there, to be killed mercilessly by the germans.
Ok, i’m happy to announce that this game is moving back onto the forum. We will give cow another chance to stay quiet. Cow, please make no strategy comments and the rest of the community can watch the game at their leisure.
I need to report that AWN and Hank have made a very honorable choice in allowing a russian edit to occur here. There was 1 japanese infantry in samara. the russian stack moved to caucasus and left no one behind in volgo to stop the japanese infantry from walking in. the allies are playing to retake a european VC prior to G16. Even if the allies manage to take a VC prior to G16, the axis has a large income advantage and will still be difficult to stop in europe.
all this to say, both teams have agreed that a victory coming from a japanese walkin to volgo is just not appropriate and would be technically unacceptable. the russian obviously moved counting on a G15 take of volgo starting the clock.
thank you AWN and Hank for doing the honorable thing.
cheers, and looking forward to the many rounds of heavy action to come (hopefully).
attached is the official map. russians leave 3 inf in volgo and the japanese leave their infantry in samara.

+1 for epic sportsmanship!
game still over. game badly broken - not meant as any knock on these guys who played great. but larry needs to work on the victory conditions, really extensively.
unfortunately it wasn’t until this very game that i fully realized it.
The VC win conditions are broken? It is designed to expedite game play.
@Cow:

Yeah broken. Trust me.
Trust me.
Now that’s a funny thing for you to say to Cow.
You should probably smoke the peace pipe with him first
After that, I think you two should talk about VC win conditions being broken. Maybe the two of you can come up with something positive for once

I find it ironic/humorous that you make this statement the round before this game ends. Complaining about the victory cities is like complaining about the distance between bases in MLB. It is the game. Adjust, adapt and overcome or play t-ball instead (Risk?).
Bold, please be as humble on here as you are in your PMs to us. You and Dutch have played an incredible game. As I mentioned to Dutch last week, it is a shame that there are pages and pages of drivel on this thread that has taken away from a truly outstanding game, one that I am sure many spectators have learned from. Making excuses and blaming the basic structure of the game cheapens how well you have played and it cheapens your partner by association. Please don’t do it.
This kind of talk is also fairly insulting to us. While I give my partner far more credit for our success than I will take, I will say we work very hard to plan moves and develop long term and short term strategies. I realize that I am very fortunate to have arguably the best player on this site as a partner and I will say any skill that have comes from years of having my a** handed to me playing him on my kitchen table. That being said, we are where we are in this game and in this tournament, not because of luck or some sort of inherent structural problem with the game, but rather because of solid game play and excellent team work. To say otherwise is insulting and incredibly misleading.

hank, i’m not diminishing the quality of your play one bit. the first thing i said is that you have played a great game. when we are all done, i will be happy to have a discussion with you and hank detailing what i have learned in this game and why i think the axis should never lose unless the allied bid goes well above perhaps 25 or 30… not sure yet.
it took playing possibly the best axis experts in the world to see it, but i don’t think the allies can do all that much more to stop what you did than we did (of course, i’m sure it could be improved on). conceptually, it seems the victory conditions are broken in this game, i will detail it to you later.
bottom line though, you guys have played a great game. just because you have the side i think has a dramatic advantage giving the victory conditions does not diminish your play.
You are taking what im saying the wrong way is all hank. Sorrt if it sounded bad or like I was complaining. I am most certainly not. Cheers

Ok, thanks for the clarification. Look forward to that discussion after our game.
No problem. Yeah lets talk after. I had some major revelations that when I express them to you I think a lightbulb will go on. You guys were wicked good in this game and maybe you were holding back, but there were things you could have done to put us in the ground long ago. When you hear what I say u will never again even be a possible loss with the axis, barring unbelievable cow luck.
Thank peace pipe. We get to watch the best game of the year again.
I like the Victory Conditions. It speeds the game up. Granted it gives the Axis an advantage, but that is what the bid is for.
So like… is this game over or what?
yes, it is over. we are going one more round though.
